My husband and I stayed at this particular hotel because it was near our daughter. We were disappointed with a number of things as I will list: The carpeted floors in the hallway appeared to not have been vacuumed for a long time. There was no guide in the room to show how to use the TV. Most hotels have a guide to restaurants, churches, TV channels etc but there was nothing in this room. The bed was nice and the pillows ample but there was no laundry bag for our dirty clothes which we thought unusual. The floors in the room (vinyl laminate) were dotted with some kind of black goo that would need to be scraped off and which made the floors appear dirty. The floors in the elevator also appeared to have this same black goo stuck to them. The breakfast was also disappointing. There were 2 types of cereal, waffles, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, and yogurt along with some fresh fruit and plenty of juice. I eat a keto diet and was surprised to see no protein offerings at all. I could have survived on hard boiled eggs but there weren't any and while I don't expect everyone to accommodate my specific diet there are usually at least hard boiled eggs in most places. We noticed that doors that were supposed to be locked were not on multiple occasions and reported it. None of the housekeeping staff spoke English so communicating was not possible. The bathroom looked reasonably clean but it seemed to be in need of remodeling. The handrail was stained with something and the bathtub surface was worn and cracked on the side and the drain looked dirty but it was actually the surface that was worn down. The outdoor pool was closed for the season but yet that door was unlocked for some reason and we could walk right in from the parking lot. If they are going to leave the doors unlocked then why do I need a card to get into the hotel? Staff at the front desk was friendly and accommodating and helpful.|My overall impression is that this is a hotel that is adequate to stay in for our purpose which was a weekend visit to family. We were mostly gone and just needed a place to sleep. We had a fridge and microwave and a king sized bed which was also nice. As far as a place to stay for a weekend it was adequate but if I was staying for a longer period of time I would probably stay somewhere else. I prefer to stay in a clean and obviously well maintained hotel but this place seemed to be lacking in...
Read moreShort version: It stinks and was a dump.
More detailed version: We booked a smoking double room because there were no more non smoking rooms left. When we got to the room, the door said "No smoking room", so I thought I was going to be pleasantly surprised... But there were ashtrays in the room and it smelled terrible. But the stench was more than just smoke. I forgot to take a picture of it but I believe it was also the smell of mold and musty. The towels even stunk.
Any "repairs" they have made to the room are blatantly obvious. The bed is hard as a rock (which I actually like, but most don't). And I do mean like a freaking rock. The double beds are smaller than an actual double bed - you better be intimate with anyone you plan to share one with.
The room was hot. We had it for two nights, and after leaving the a/c on "blast" all night and all day, we came into the room the second night and it was still hot. To add to your misery, there are trains running nearby all night that will wake you, and I've slept through a tornado. We were on the front of the building though, not sure if it'd have been less audible on the back of the building.
The shower got hot, though there was this terrible noise like a plane taking off when you ran the shower. The sink had no hot water.
Breakfast: Milk was spoiled both mornings and the bread was stale enough that toast wasn't even good. There was biscuits and gravy, but they put the biscuits out cold and they were dry and hard, and the gravy was watery. Breakfast was inedible both days. Plan on eating elsewhere.
Pool, which was said to be open through September... was closed. And it was incredibly warm out, and had been, so it wasn't like there was a freeze they drained it for.
Essentially, stay elsewhere. The only positives for me was that I was able to understand their English, the rock hard bed and, of course,...
Read moreI am by far, not a hotel snob however, I would NEVER stay at this hotel again. The rooms/hotel inside look nothing like the pictures on the website! I did not make this reservation & had I checked the reviews in advance, I would have NEVER made a reservation here! The rooms were shoddy at best! Very old & outdated & not clean. I liked the fact that the floors were laminate, however, I was afraid to go barefoot. I immediately checked for bugs everywhere; fortunately did not find any. The bed appeared to be new but I was still nervous about sleeping in It! No lounge chair but that was probably a good thing. The shower appeared to be newer & was clean. The hallways & elevator were very dirty! Floors definitely needed a good cleaning! They allowed a giant RV as well as a bus to take up multiple parking spots in their lot so when we returned from our party in the evening, there was no place to park except in one of the two guest check in parking spots at the front of the hotel. Never, ever, ever would I stay there again NOR would I recommend this hotel to anyone. We didn’t even eat their free breakfast because It was just as all of the other reviews stated; not good! We couldn’t get out of there fast enough in the morning! One last note; there was a mini van parked out bag loaded to the roof inside of the vehicle with all sorts of “supplies”, including bed bug items. The van had Florida plates. I’m convinced It belongs to the owners & this is where they store their supplies! Gross,...
