Diamond's Sports Grille — Restaurant in Mesa

We went here because the description sounded great to enjoy some good food and Sunday Football 🏈 I was disappointed right away when I asked the very nice, bust super busy and short waiter what the specials were...he said a Southwest chicken sandwich & nothing else...Are you kidding? no deals on Football Sunday!?! We wound up ordering the wings and the chicken sandwich special. Wings were tasty and great! the Chicken sandwich was small and not so flavorful, it did have alot of guacamole which is a great thing but for $8.95 (on special) it was pretty small and the chicken was un salted and bland. The thing that was upsetting to us was just because we are in AZ does not mean everyone is a Cardinals fan!!! we went to watch the Dallas Seattle game which was at first playing on one of the larger TV in the back of the restaurant where we were sitting about 10 min into the game the television changed to the Cardinals game that was already playing on 2 of the 3 larger TVs they had there. We asked our server (who was swamped) if the game could be put back to the previous station, he said NO because that TV controls the others....We knew this was not true because it was just on and the Cardinals game was still on 2 of the larger TVs!!! Our server said we could switch our whole table and move to one where we could see the Dallas game across the room, above the crowded bar on a small (out of date) TV! needless to say we asked for our check, did not order any beer, and went and spent our money on beer at another local sports bar where our game was on!!! wont be returning or recommending this place...

First off I would just like to say Gina... you are a rockstar! 4th of July night with the street fair next to it you would think that management would maybe, I don't know... schedule more than one server?? First time at this establishment and I must say that I will have to go back to get a real review. Food was good. The bartender yelled across the room at 8:40 that we were basically SOL if our food order wasn't in because the kitchen was shutting down. From my point of view, if the kitchen stayed open until the event crowd cleared out you could have at least doubled sales, even if it was just fried foods. We sat and watched our server run her butt off. Stayed polite and positive the entire time with no assistance from anyone. I'll be back to check this place out soon, hopefully my atmosphere rating will change. 😊 Update 8/1/25: Decided to go by for a late bite and a drink. Went in around 8:30... Staying at the Delta across the street with not much around so tried this place. Nobody came to see us for 20 minutes. Finally got a drink at the 30 minute mark. Food for 2 took over an hour and the pizza ordered was not even the right one. Western burger was ok but had to ask for lettuce and tomato after it came with none even though i had asked for it when i ordered it. The waitress apologized somewhat early on saying she was the only server tonight for a pretty full bar. At the end she gave the pizza free for the screw up. Asked why she was the only server to which she replied that's all that was staffed for tonight. Asked if the manager was there and she said no. Setting your employees up for failure. Feel sorry for her and hope she finds a new job...
