Everything was great until it came time to pay. My bill was approximately $45 and I attempted to pay with $100 bill that had a very very small tear at the bottom of it. The bartender took the $100 bill and change and showed it to her manager who said because it had a tear it could be fraudulent and said I could not use it to pay the bill. I was beyond flabbergasted as it was one of the newer bills with the blue holographic strip if you hold it up to the light you can see the Benjamin Franklin in the background and the hundred dollar strip. I mention this as I work at a bank and if you know anything about US currency you would be able to tell that the bill was 100% real. My suggestion if you decide to go here don't pay in cash as they may think that your bills are fraudulent. It is extremely embarrassing as a law-abiding citizen to go and pay your tab wanting to leave a great tip and be accused of possessing a fraudulent bill. I understand that fraudulent bills exist but you truly as a manager need to understand the way that currency looks feels and the characteristics that they possess if you're going to turn away currency from a paying customer. I am seriously so disappointed. By the way we visited around 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on a Tuesday when the bar wasn't even busy and were enjoying ourselves, not a crazy weekend night where someone Shady might try to pull off a fraudulent bill. I'm just happy I had enough small change to pay the tab otherwise they may have embarrassed me more by having to call the cops to confirm that the bill was real. I'm sure they would have taken the 100.00 if my bill had been 80.00 and I was leaving the extra 20.00 as a tip..if you aren't going to take 100s then you need to post a sign and at a bar I can't imagine that would go well... PS the tear in the bill was less than a couple centimeters big and most US currency is not perfect as it goes through different institutions...
Read moreAtrocious customer service. Placed an order through Chownow (correctly). Walked in and after standing there for a while i approached the bar and spoke with the bartender/manager inquiring about my order that i recieved notification was ready. He said you'll have to wait a minute. A minute later a server with actual customer service skills asked if I needed help. I got home to find the burger i order was completely wrong. I double checked the receipt and it was ordered correctly.
I called the bartender/manager back and told him of the issue. His response was... well theres not much we can do with an order from the app but if you come back (40 more minutes of driving for me) we will make you the correct one. No apology, empathy or customer service. I asked for the manager to which he stated he was and he said they can't do a refund as its through the Chownow app. I then stated it was ordered correctly so clearly not my fault he then said again you can come back and we will get you the right one.
I too work at a restaurant, we also use Chownow and regardless of the app excuse if we make an error we find a way to appease the guest whether it be a gift card, (we also can refund the guest so that excuse was a cop out) but at the minimum, the bare minimum we own the mistake apologize and try our best to make the guest want to return.
That was not and will not be the case. The manager on the night of 07/26/2020 needs coaching. Especially since upon reading some of the reviews I'm not the first to complain of this. So keep running the business this way in the middle of a pandemic in which all businesses are struggling and the need for empathy and ownership is at an all time high. Especially when in the rare event a patron ventures out with risk to their health they pick your establishment.
I so agree with the comments of how dirty , the odor and the lack of upkeep there, it mimics...
Read moreI had a great time at this establishment. I left in good spirits after paying my tab for drinks of 167.00. The next day I realized at like 2pm that they had double charged my account, overdrafting me over 100 dollars. I explained that I was now in a bind with no money and furthermore had made several small transactions before realizing I was in the hole, which were all 15 dollars per overdraft. After explaining this to 2 employees, Chris the manager got on the phone and made me give the whole story again. He told me there was nothing he could do, that the bartender or server probably didn't know this happened, and to take it up with my bank. Im like its the weekend, a holiday weekend, and your persons mistake screwed me over. And they didnt tell me.I have my kid, I have no money to feed her. He offered me a free appetizers drink. at this point my voice is raised, im cussing, he mentions that I'm cussing. Bro you work in a bar. Im not calling you names, you are refusing to take responsibility for your servers mistake that is going to cost me after this 75 dollars in overdraft fees. I kid you not, he literally said "what, you want me to just give you the money? Like you would bring it back." so now you're insulting my character? Im so livid I can not stand it. After spending damn near 200 bucks at your establishment I will also have to pay 75 in overdraft fees. And I was completely insulted. I will 100 percent be talking to the better business bureau about this and posting on every social...
