Sugar Donuts — Restaurant in Mesquite

Got the cinnamon roll, eclair, fritter and what I think she called the plain, buttermilk cake donut. Aside from a pain glazed, these items are how I compare and rate donut shops. They were phenomenal! Everyone at work agreed as well. I typically avoid the chains, supermarket and gas station donuts at all costs, and stick to the local place by the house, but today I tried this one closer to work as I had a hankering pop up on the drive. Boy am I glad this place was near by! The eclair was buttery soft with a thick, creamy, smooth filling. The cinnamon roll and fritters were crisp when bitten into with a soft and doughy chew with just the right amount of sweet. The cake donut was firm but moist with a nice glaze. I use to pass other places to get here regularly. Now I refuse to buy anything here. The last time I visited, I ordered donuts and coffee. When I began to make my coffee, I noticed some employees watching me and talking. It made me a little uncomfortable, but I just ignored it, finished up, and left. When I took my first sip of coffee it tasted a little funny. It had a sour, old taste to it. Immediately my stomach began to turn. When I got to work I was feeling nauseated and sick. This place used to be my favorite donut spot. I went about 2 weeks ago and nothing seemed fresh like it used to be but the staff was still nice. I went again earlier this week same experience and then again today same thing. Donuts were either hard or close to it. Kolaches had where the weeny starts to dry out and shrivel on alllll of them.
