This is a cute small coffee and bakery in North Bay Village. It's 2 doors down from my dentist so I go here before or after my appointment to have a mocha. The coffee they use here is superb. My mocha always comes out piping hot, silky and strong. It doesn't even need sugar.
Aside from good coffee, they also offer breakfast sandwiches, pastries, cookies, and empanadas. My husband and I were just here yesterday and we tried 3 empanadas. One chicken, beef and spinach. They were decent but we think the beef needs more seasoning and they all need to be a little warmer. They were about $3 each and our coffee drinks were around $5 each.
I also like the atmosphere here. It's relaxing and not too busy but they do get a line of people around 9am. I think most are from the local businesses in the area. The staff here is also very courteous. They will bring your coffee and food to your table if you dine in. There are adequate tables inside considering the size of the space. Parking is only street parking but it's affordable in the area. About $1.50 an hour.
For now, I can give this place 4 stars until I tried the rest of the pastries and sandwiches but I do like coming here when I visit my dentist. Will be back again when I go to my next...
Read moreI ordered online for pick up a croissant with cheese, bacon and 2 eggs over medium at 11:44 AM, it showed that my pick up time was at 11:59 AM. Due to a lengthy meeting I was not able to pick up my food until 12:35am. This being said, I arrived to the coffee shop and I asked the lady behind the counter where I could pick up my order, and she said that there were no orders in their system. It wasn't until I saw her tap on the iPad to ACCEPT my order, that she said "oh, we just got it." This made me very upset, because I had place my order almost an hour prior to picking it up. She asked me if I wanted to wait, to which I replied "sure. But how long would it be?" She said "less than 10 minutes, it's the only food order we have." I sat down and waited patiently. 20 minutes later, I was given my food. When I left and sat down elsewhere to eat, my eggs were sunny side up, and in a completely different container from where the croissant was, so I had to put the eggs in the sandwich myself. The cheese looked very depressing and so did the bacon. However, it surprisingly tasted good, and that's the only reason why I'm giving this...
Read moreI was satisfied with my overall experience here. I ordered the oatmeal raisin cookie and teh chocolate chip cookie, and they were gigantic. I was so excited when I saw they had such massive cookies. I prefer my oatmeal raisin cookies to more soft and chewy. The cookies here were more crunchy and grainy. Most of the oatmeal pieces on teh top side of the cookie slid right off as soon as I picked up the cookie. I was shocked and a little disappointed, but I just scooped it out of the plate and ate it. If the cookie was not so crunchy, I believe it would be much better.
I ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice. It was so refreshing and worth it. The machine they use to squeeze the juice from the oranges is pretty innovative and awesome.
I ended up getting coffee beans to grind myself at home. The coffee had a strong Earthy taste to it and very little acidity to it. I ended up having to add half a teaspoon of sugar along with a splash of milk in order to finish...
