⭐️ Avoid NEW CAMPO Argentino – Overpriced & Underwhelming
My wife and I recently dined at CAMPO Argentina GENTINO in Miami Beach, and I can honestly say that this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The food was bland and flavorless, even though it was cooked to the correct temperature, and frankly, it was overpriced for what they served.
We spent an hour and a half in this establishment, totaling $128.74, but we left feeling ripped off. I enjoyed a couple of Peronis, and my wife had one glasses of wine but charged for 2. Unfortunately, when she accidentally broke a wine glass, the staff couldn’t care less and refused to replace it, they just places it an a very small table. In any respectable restaurant, spilling a drink would warrant a replacement, especially when we’re spending nearly $200 for two people. we were left high and dry.
Adding to my frustration was the automatic 18% gratuity they imposed without any prior discussion. It's embarrassing for both the establishment and the customer to have a predetermined tip forced upon us. I usually tip 30% when service warrants it. By taking the liberty to add gratuity without our consent, it feels like an unfair business practice.
When I raised my concerns about the gratuity and the lack of accommodations, they argued rather than addressing the issue, showcasing a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. Let me be clear: gratuity should always be at the customer’s discretion, and imposing it feels incredibly inappropriate.
Now, how do you serve hot dinner rolls without butter? They informed us they were out of butter for the day, yet they still managed to serve mashed potatoes. How is that even possible? How do you cook mashed potatoes without any butter? And how do you season steaks without any? We found ourselves at a total loss for options and seasoning; they simply could not provide anything to enhance our meal.
With fewer than eight people in the dining room before 6:00 PM, I’m utterly baffled by how they could allow such service to slip so drastically.
The food was decent overall
I urge anyone considering dining here to think twice. It’s clear this restaurant has serious issues with both its flavors and its service. You can find better places to...
Read moreFirst time dining at this restaurant and I experienced the worst customer service, ever! First, our server did not bring complimtary bread while other patrons received theirs. I had to request for it from a second server! Once the bread arrived at the table, butter was not included. That too, I had to request for! Water glasses were empty by the time our apertizer arrived, but our server never bother to refill or offer to refill them. So, I requested for refills from the second server, but she never came back. Instead, both servers walked around refilling empty glasses for other patrons, while neglecting our request. Then, our main courses arrived and at this point, we were still waiting for the water! So, I reminded the second waiter, again. Finally, she came to refill the the glasses...after we're half way done with our dinner! Once, we finished our meals, our server (main one) FINALLY came by with a pitcher of water and asked if we needed more water. At this point, I was already really upset with him but I managed to keep my composure. After about 5 minutes later, the bill arrived, with the request of course! Just to let the readers know, throughout this ordeal, the restaurant was not at all busy. When the bill came, there was an 18% gratuity included!!! Where we come from, Houston and other parts of the US (as much as I know) do not charge gratuity unless there is a party of 6 or more patrons per table. In that case, gratuity is assessed, which is understood and acceptable. However, there were just 4 of us and I thought the 18% added gratuity was totaly absurd and unnecessary. Especially, service was so awful!!! Don't get me wrong. I've tipped as high as 35% in the past, when services were good. Here? They didn't deserve even a penny, in my opinion. So, the fact an 18% gratuity was assessed, I felt like I was robbed since tipping is optional and the tip amount should be based on the amount of service/ level provided. So, my sentiment is, I felt a little bit of a discrimination since we were the only Asians in the restaurant. I felt we were undeserved, neglected and not wanted in this particular restaurant. No way in hell I would ever give them my business or support their business again if I came back here to visit...
Read moreThis was my first time trying this restaurant with my family the reviews made this place seem great, we were very excited to go out and the food was good but in all honesty the service was beyond terrible and was not worth a visit back. The problem was that an actual server never visited our table, who we found out later to be was the servers assistant had served us the whole visit and that’s why the service was so dry and unappealing. I guess we didn’t seem like we were worth the service, that would be the only logical reason why on very slow night with only a handful of tables (both in and outside) would we have not been able to receive actual service. So, I am in the restaurant business myself and did notice the FOH being very greedy and arguing a lot about tips about who would keep what and who would split what with who. Like uncaged animals running for feed AKA a tip, 3 of them were at a table not even a minute after the guests left, checking and then fighting over a tip. My uncle went to use the restroom and was completely ignored because the same employees were fighting over a tip in the middle of the restaurant. The SA hovered over us as we were filling the slip and said the 15% auto gratuity on the bill was split between him and the server, which I guess translates to tip more lol (which we did 27% of the bill), and then handed the slip back to SA who was still hovering over us. Some advice: if your FOH focused on giving great service and learn to upsell your products then maybe you would make tips worth fighting about, after that experience I can see why they were slow compared to other restaurants and so...
