The best part? I do admit, some of the items in this shop were cute. I found fun magnets for souvenirs and a few other things. And the prices werenât bad. $12.99 for 3 magnets. I found a cool pocketknife keychain with engraving on it for $12.99. A big sticker for $5.99 and fun dog magnets with names, 2 for $12.99 and each for $6.99. All together this is just a tad over $50 which felt like a decent priceâŚthen came the t-shirts. The worst part? I got 2 t-shirts, each were $8.99 for a small or 2 for like $15.99 if I recall correctly. I saw a sign on the wall that said for decals, it was $9.99 for a small and so on. I took that to mean that for a size small shirt, to add a decal would be $9.99âŚmade sense and this is exactly how itâs been in every single gift shop that Iâve ever been to. I pick a couple decals, the lady says âoh you got the last one in this!â She was kind and friendly until it came time to pay⌠total was first, $102. I was like, how does it add up to that? She did the âmathâ out loud and said the shirts were the most expensive part but because I got several things, she was giving me a discount of $9.99 per shirt⌠in my head, I thought âthatâs not a discount because thatâs what the wall says the price is.â So why is this still adding up to be so much? Even with tax it wasnât adding up. Then she said itâd be $106⌠after she originally said $102. Then I asked to put a couple things away and she started to look upset and said if I did that, the price will go up because sheâs doing me a favor by giving me a discount because of everything I got so if I put things away she will cancel the discount and charge me even more. Then I said, âokay then I will just take the shirts.â Then she said that if I did that, the total will be the same and it will not be a good idea for me cause then I leave with less. According to her, I had gotten the larger size decals which are super expensive but this didnât make sense because I didnât ask or wasnât asked about decal size. I just said what number decal I wanted and if she proceeded to then grab the largest size they had, thatâs on her. But all the decals looked the same, none of them varied in size. It was only the shirts that varied in size. At this point, we knew we were totally being scammed. I knew I should have left but there were 2 other workers in store, one by the entrance and I did not feel safe doing that so I gave in and paid just so I could leave. I highly recommend not coming here. She was so nice at first and then got more aggressive and after reading some reviews, this isnât the first...
Read moreI purchased 5 t-shirts from Beach Life on June 20th. The shirts were on a sales rack with a $7.99 sign for each. Since I was heading to a concert at the Bandshell, the lady at the register, Laura, offered to hold the shirts for me to pick up the next day, which I did. The shirts were purchased for a Bachelorette Party taking place on Sunday, June 22nd, with three of the guests flying in from out of town. When I took the shirts out of the bag to hand to each friend, we saw that the black ink on most of the letters on the shirt was fading or peeling off. Unfortunately, I was unable to hand out the Miami souvenir shirts to these ladies and so I put them back in the bag to return ASAP.
I was not able to return to Beach Life to return the shirts until June 28th. Laura was at the register again and remembered me clearly. I explained the situation to her and showed her the faulty t-shirts, their price tags still intact, expecting her to accept the shirts in return and allow me to exchange them for other merchandise. Laura said that I should have inspected the shirts before buying them, and that store policy does not allow for any returns or exchanges. Meanwhile, the receipt clearly says "No Refunds, EXCHANGE ONLY." She offered to cover the âI ⤠Miamiâ image with other images of the same size to simply cover it altogether, but the images she was offering were unappealing, especially when they were meant to be for four feminine ladies who were visiting Miami for a special occasion.
Itâs a shame that there exist dishonest and crooked people selling faulty merchandise to tourists, knowing that those tourists are leaving town in a few days and will never come back to demand a return or exchange. Itâs a shame that a store owner has no ethics or morals and that they will display faulty merchandise on a sales rack, enticing customers to buy it without any warning whatsoever. The owner of Beach Life should put a sign on sales rack warning customers that the merch they are buying is on sale BECAUSE the merch is damaged. SHAME ON BEACH LIFE OWNER & STAFF FOR RIPPING PEOPLE OFF.  Shame on you for taking advantage of innocent tourists who come to our city of Miami Beach and spend their hard-earned money on our city, only to be ripped off by store owners such as Beach Lifeâs.
Unless you want to waste money on damaged merchandise and be ripped off, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING AT BEACH LIFE, located at 240 71stStreet,...
Read moreDO NOT SHOP HERE!!!! My girlfriend and I needed to buy a bathing suit for her before going to the beach. They had a deal that said two piece bikinis for 35$. We got a bikini, a sunscreen with a 9.99$ sticker and tanning oil with a 10.99$ one. My girlfriend changed into the new bathing suit while I paid with my debit card. The lady did not give me a receipt but she talked to me about some mushroom product she had for sale on the counter, making small talk while my girl friend changed. A few days later I noticed the balance in my bank account was lower than expected and checked my transactions. I was charged 111$ dollars. It seems this is clearly a recurring issue based on all the reviews with similar experiences. They clearly are actively trying to scam tourists and people just passing through by overcharging...
