Bungalow By The Sea — Restaurant in Miami Beach

Me and my wife(who’s pregnant) stopped by this restaurant after riding bikes on the board walk, she felt as if she was about to pass out and this restaurant was the 1st spot we saw so we decided to eat here. It took a full 30 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us, after sitting for awhile I decided to go get the waiters attention myself. After we placed our order it took an additional 45 minutes for our food to come out and still no apology or sympathy from the waiter. After we ate our food we informed the waiter that we was in a bit of a rush so if he could bring the check right out that would be perfect, of course he did not. After waiting for the check for about 20 mins my wife went up to the bar and grabbed the check herself, and from what she told me she received attitude while trying to pay for the meal. I hate playing the race card but we where the only black couple at the restaurant and we seem to have been the only customers that was having this experience so yeah I think it was a bit of racism involved. The food wasn’t that bad but it wasn’t great due to the fact it was cold once we got it. The place looked nice. By the beach but you can’t see the ocean once you’re inside. We ordered a beer, non alcoholic strawberry daiquiri, blackened grouper sandwich and skirt steak. The drinks cost more than other restaurants in the area and came in plastic containers. The non alcoholic daiquiri arrived loaded with alcohol. Good thing my wife was not allergic to alcohol and only turns bright red when consuming it. The fish sandwich was very soggy which made the buns soft and soggy and the blackened fish loose it’s crunch. with juices from the coleslaw pouring down with each bite. Very disappointing. The only highlight of the meal was the French fries with the outer layer extremely crunchy and the inside soft and tender. The skirt steak with the chimichurie sauce on the other hand was outstanding The steak was perfectly grilled and tasted so good. If it’s your first time in Miami Beach please be careful with the bill. Restaurants tucked in gmservice fee of 20%. This had to be one of the Worse customer service experiences I have had yet to date. My husband and I stopped here off of the boardwalk because I am 6 months pregnant and was feeling very lightheaded. We sat at one of the couches in the sand. Everything seemed nice enough until we received no service for roughly 10 minutes. Mind you we were greeted when we first got there. I had to go find the waiter and tell them we wanted to order food and drinks. Once Vincenzo, our waiter, finally came we already knew what we wanted, and ordered and put in for waters because I was dehydrated. We waited another 10-15 minutes just for the water which surprisingly came in plastic cups. I am not boogie by far but I do like to drink out of a glass especially at a place like that, I expected. The food was actually very well prepared, but the service made everything seem sub par. We asked for the check which took another 15 minutes and I had to go to the bar to get him to print it off.
