Miami was a stopover before and after our cruise. I was craving sushi and saw Hiro's. Very good reviews. The people don't lie. Judging from the pictures of their food, I thought I'd give them a try. Not too far of a walk from our hotel. Almost missed it because it truly is a hidden gem (hint: south of the Marriott on Washington between 15th & 16th)
So many choices... good thing people were ordering and waiting for their food. Couldn't decide if I wanted sushi or hot food even though my craving was for sushi so I ordered both! The Emperor had a little of everything: 6 pieces of nigiri (shrimp, white fish, tuna, salmon, escolar, and kani) , 3 pieces of masago California maki, and 3 pieces of tuna maki. My hot food was combination fried rice with chicken and shrimp. The pieces of chicken were dark meat so it stayed juicy while cooking. Plus the pieces of chicken were huge chunks. Usually other restaurants chop the pieces of meat into tiny pieces that can be dry. In addition, the seasoning on the fried rice was perfect not too salty. But they do give you extra soy sauce if you need more flavor.
Next time I'm in South Beach Miami I'm going to come back to try the other things on their menu. I would definitely recommend Hiro's...
Read moreThis place has gone downhill when it comes to service. I’ve come here for over a decade and not only are they raising their prices while giving you less food but their service is garbage. They don’t care about anything. I walked inside and cut my foot on their door because they have no rubber stopper and it’s super sharp. I was wearing flip flops! While I’m bleeding all they decided to do was look at me and say and I quote “idk what happened.” I’m sorry what? I just told you what happened. You need to put in a door stopper so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. We live in Miami Beach where everyone wears flip flops! They just looked at me and didn’t say anything. The owners were there with the staff and no one did anything. They didn’t even try to apologize. I didn’t ask for anything. I didn’t want anything. I just wanted them to acknowledge that this happened but instead they just looked at me like I was nuts. Crazy. At least say “we’ll fix this we’re sorry.” Offer a helping hand. I don’t know. If I could give 0 stars i would. Learn compassion and empathy for your customers and lose your ego. I get it you’ve been open for decades that doesn’t mean it gives you the right to act...
Read moreWhy didn't I find this place any sooner? It is located in Miami South Beach and considering the location you may presume it is expensive: wrong. It is one of the low cost food you will find in Miami Beach, and the quality is worth much more than the price.
They offer a wide variety of Sushi, Sashimi, platters, famous dishes, etc. They also offer Rice Burgers which was a hit, never tried it before and I loved it (actual rice buns in a massive seaweed covering and hosting the ingredients; beef, chicken, fish, or vegetables).
If you are a Sushi fanatic like myself, I highly recommend one of the main deals / platters as they are very cost effective and good for parties of 2, 3 and 4. The portions in general are quite big and filling (refer to my photos).
Service is amazing and the staff is really helpful and patient while deciding on selections.
Be aware: if ordering online, be aware the menu can be a hacked version and not the correct one. Use their official site and/or through Google Maps. I looked at the one on normal Google search and it wasn't the correct one.
Rating: 10 stars out of 5 if that was...
