Sunrise Café — Restaurant in Miami Beach

We thought we hit the jackpot with this being right under the hotel. The food looked good and that’s about as far as the positives go. There was only one waitress, and although she was nice, it took FOREVER to get anything. Whether it was taking our order, getting coffee, getting our check (took over 30 minutes just for the check even though we asked multiple times for it) everything took way too long. We had to ask multiple times if we needed something. I was fine with waiting as it was only one person but if someone asks for a box and their check, it shouldn’t take 40 minutes to give it to them. There was only a couple of tables. The food was ok. The waffle was hard but the chicken was alright. There was at least 5 other workers around not really doing anything. We asked one of them if we could pay for the food with them at the register and she wouldn’t do it. The convenience of this place is definitely not worth the time and money it took. This is our last day here and we wasted the morning...

My family and I stayed one night at hotel above this cafe. We went to the cafe for breakfast. It was a waste of money and our time. The pancakes were cooked with butter tasting batter, the eggs were scrambled so hard we couldn’t eat it, the coffee was very watered down. I asked for the Honolulu breakfast and they brought me out something completely different. When I brought it to the waitress attention, she brought me out three slices of watermelon to make up for it. First I was very irritated that she thought I would Like watermelon because I was of color and when she did bring it out, it was discolored and looked old. The entire meal was absolutely disgusting and the silverware was dirty. We asked for plastic ware instead and it took 15 minutes after she brought the food out to get the last ware. I do not recommend the restaurant or the hotel attached to it....

This place may not be good for people of color. Me, my hubby and adult daughter went to this spot and we were seated at a location outside that we had to make adjustments to. After making adjustments, we saw the staff come out the and just stare at us. We were not offered water and no one was coming to serve us. After they finished starring at us and went back inside, my hubby went in to ask if someone would be serving us. A girl who was standing there doing nothing followed my hubby to the table to take our order. I said enough, let's go. As we were leaving, we saw all the staff come back out to serve others. We are removing this restaurant from our weekend list. Hopefully they will improve on...
