Veranda — Restaurant in Miami Beach

Some time ago while having a beach day as we were very close to the Faena Hotel we decided to go for lunch @ Veranda restaurant @ Faena, I really love Faena, all places look great and normally food is good, expensive but it used to be in range to the other expensive places in SOBE. Wow I have to say that pricing has become crazy. We shared one beet salad, we ordered fried fish & calamari which we had to send back as not good, they took it this off our bill so good for them, two glasses of wine and we paid over $80, so practically half salad and a glass of wine came to over $40. I came here for breakfast with my bf and was really disappointed with our meals. I ordered the scrambled egg with crab meat. He ordered the lobster Benedict. I also got the green juice. Nothing we had was prepared in any special way. Maybe the pandemic affected their kitchen/staff. The small side salad that came with my order was an arugula salad and there were some dark wilted leaves in it with a light dressing. The scrambled eggs had a few good lumps of crab meat but overall it was very bland. My bf did not enjoy his dish either. It wasn’t a very creative dish at all for a place like this. The Veranda is the best breakfast spot in Miami Beach. Ask for Michael when you go there. Michael’s excellent service and the food quality was so amazing we went back three times in a week. We had been going to Eden Roch for breakfast before discovering The Veranda, but Eden is not even close to the same caliber. The prices are high compared to other restaurants in the area, but you are paying for the experience. We had banana French toast, Belgian waffles, lobster toast, and the crab cake Benedict.
