Where to start on this one. The experience we had was the worst one at a Hilton property we have ever had. Upon arrival, we were not easily able to get our luggage into the hotel due to the crazy stair layout. We had to haul multiple pieces of luggage up multiple stairs. If it was just the only thing not a big deal. From there, we had to wait about 15 minutes before being acknowledged and start the check in process. We were sent to the wrong room someone else was staying in and had to go back to figure that out.
The entire hotel layout is odd and makes it very cramped. If there is even one or two people waiting at the elevator, you can’t easily get around to get to your room until the elevator is gone. Very frustrating.
The difficulties continued as the lobby is very close to the room we were put in on the first floor. I also need to mention there is yet another set of stairs, not too long, but still frustrating to haul your luggage up. It can be avoided if you’re OK waiting 10 or 20 minutes for someone to help you with the wheelchair elevator but at that point we were done. And the lobby is a very loud room, and he carries down the entire first floor hallway. Annoying while in it but it gets more so later.
Our room was very small and was not very clean. We brought several pieces of luggage as we were going on a long trip and could barely fit it in our room if we were ok blocking the door. By this time we were just happy to be in the room and wanted to go to sleep. Unfortunately, due to the very loud and echoing lobby we were able to hear a lot of noise well into the late evening until the lobby cleared out. Not the best set up if you’re trying to rest.
Finally the best part of the trip came and we were able to leave the next day. We had difficulty getting our luggage out again and it’s hard to get picked up a small area of the street out front but eventually we were able to go.
Considering the hotel price is about three times what I’ve paid in the past for a Hilton property at and all the other issues I can’t believe this is a Hilton Property. We are diamond members and are used to being treated much better and are often offered upgrades or welcoming gifts (snack, bottle of water, etc) but that didn’t happen at this property either. We will never stay here again, and would advise others to find better options. Hilton for us is usually one of the best options in town but unfortunately not...
Read moreI have stayed at other hotels multiple times specially when I was on military orders and also on personal stays. I've never in my life been lied to twice specially after requesting a late check-out over the phone a week before our stay, requesting a late check-out again when we checked-in, requesting a late check-out as we were told to do so within 24 hours before we check-out and then requesting a late check-out as we were told to do so at 7 AM the day of check-out. The saddest thing was they knew that our flight was leaving from Miami Int. Airport at 9 PM so anything past 11 AM check-out would help but they refused even after I told them this is for the Government Rate as well. I have never had an issue with any other hotels. Their excuse was that the rooms were already booked so we had to leave at 11 AM or get charged for an extra night. if the rooms were already booked, why would I get charged an extra night if I passed 11AM? aren't the rooms booked already? I let it go but when I checked-out, I ended up leaving my phone charged plugged in the wall and by 6PM I went back to the hotel to retrieve my phone. I asked the front desk that I was 100% sure the phone charger was there. After going back and forth, he called the cleaning lady to ensure if they found anything and cleaning lady told him that for me to check the room. Guess what?? the front desk guy gives me a key to go to the room and the charger wasn't there but NO ONE was in the room and it wasn't even clean. So I thought to myself, didn't they say that this room was booked which is why I couldn't get a late check-out? Completely lied to my face and that's one of the things I don't appreciate from a business perspective. I went downstairs and respectfully gave the key to the front desk guy. I told the front desk that someone must have taken the charger, he called another cleaning crew and they have it. They were able to give it to me. They have lost me as a client because if someone truly asking for late check-out and they truly need it but the hotel staff is going to lie about this and then I come back to the same room I stayed at hours later and it hasn't been cleaned or no one is staying there.... yeah... no thanks. They have lost my business and the business of my friends as well. I won't no longer stay...
Read moreDuplicate post on Yelp and TripAdvisor During a recent stay at this hotel from Philly, myself and one of my girlfriends arrived in the early morning hour of 1:30AM and greeted by a nice gentleman named Lavaris. He checked us in quickly and we were off to our room only to find that it had a King size bed. We made our way back down to the front desk to request a room with 2 beds which Lavaris took care of immediately and back to the elevator we went.
Our room was on the fourth floor with a view of the side street which came in handy when wanting to check on our rental car. The hotel website states they have free parking but there is only street parking which is $2/hr or you can park at the AC Hotel which is a block away at a rate of $35 plus tax with In/Out privileges.
I plan to write to Hilton’s headquarters because this “amenity” is a common complaint amongst other travelers but yet it has not been removed from the website. I selected this hotel because of that and didn’t think to double check it until after I read some of the reviews from other guests. We lucked up and found street parking so I used the ParkMobile app to pay for parking which was less than the cost of the garage a block away. Street parking is free from 3AM to 9AM so it worked out that we saved money by not parking in the garage. Besides parking on the street on the side of the hotel was more convenient than parking in the lot a block a way.
The water pressure in our room was fantastic. The water was hot and refreshing after a day out and about Miami. The beds were comfortable; the WiFi was good; the snacks down at the front desk came in handy when Uber Eats didn’t show up with the food we ordered.
The hotel has tables and chairs outside on Collins Avenue so that as a nice place to hang out and be socially distant. I learned that rats climb trees in Miami which was hilarious to me.
One other thing to note with this hotel is that there are no “resort fees or hotel imposed fees” but they offer beach towels if...
