Well let me preface by saying Miami as a whole doesn't have a good coffee scene and that will result in many challenges for someone getting into coffee.
They are trying, they roast there own coffee with a Bellwether, which people in the coffee industry know us limiting Bellwether green coffee. Although XO may be sourcing there own, which I don't think. There packing and branding asthetics is all nice. Although for a specialty shop they could have had more unique bottled drinks,so that part didn't line up with me and what there overall asethics are.
Now here lies the issue and why they received two stars. Now this may be because it's hard to find people who have a real interest in coffee and the ones who are interested are young SJW types full of negative attitude. So I feel for coffee shops.
There was one girl who seemed like she was definitely in charge and was the most welcoming and promising. When arrived the new girl ,as someone who's in the business knows when someone is new or not, was combing her with her hands, and didn't wash after. That's a health code violation where I'm from . Two ,she didn't know what drip coffee was,but the manager came to the rescue in that. Then I asked the manager about the espresso and this is where she could definitely use help. As someone in coffee, you would expect ,especially when I'm the only person there and there are 3 baristas,to give an explanation about the espresso. You definitely would want to do that when someone is asking. I could see not going through the spiel of that if someone doesn't ask. Third the most frustrating part was the barista. I mean this ia really why they got 2 stars . This young girl with colored hair who looked angry! She may be part of a social justice feminist movement , frankly I don't care, but this is a business i don't want freaking attitude int the am and getting a vibe or energy like someone upset. Additionally when she called out my drinks, she just left it on the counter ,gave no eye contact and quickly turned away! Then I sat down, this person was on there phone and just leaning in the counter! That just doesn't look good people on their phone and leaning on the counter.
I give this constructive feedback as someone who's in the biz and owners want to hear these issues to address them, especially if you think you're in specialty coffee. The problem is the problem and not the person pointing out the problem. The barista in my opinion would never work for me the other two have potential and they have potential because of their...
Read moreI’m a regular at this coffee shop because the quality of the coffee is really good, but the costumer service is always trash. Every time I go this girl that works there (black long hair with glasses) makes me feel not welcomed and always gives me attitude like I owe her money or something. I never say anything because I understand that working as a barista can be difficult sometimes but today I went at 11am and ordered 3 drinks (1 salted caramel and 2 tiramisu lattes) She made the first tiramisu latte and then the salted caramel latte, after that I order another tiramisu latte and she gave me and my friend attitude because we didn’t order them together. I ordered my 2 and then my friend was waiting to put her order in but she was too busy on her phone. She made the tiramisu latte with the salted caramel foam and only covered the top with cinnamon and gave it to us like my friend wasn’t going to notice the change of flavor. If I’m paying $10 for a latte I’m expecting to receive what I ordered. I asked her if she could remake it since it didn’t taste or look the same as the other tiramisu latte and she told me that it was the same coffee, I told her once again that it didn’t taste the same and rudely she told me she wasn’t going to remake it while cackling. When I grabbed the other tiramisu latte to show her that even the foam didn’t look the same she grabbed the drink from my hand and threw it in the sink and started to remake it with the worst attitude ever and then gave me the drink that honestly at this point I didn’t even want anymore. This girl ruined the entire experience for my friend and I and it’s not the first time she gives us attitude. I’m really sad because this is my favorite coffee spot in Miami and to be treated like this from a worker is actually insane, you guys should re evaluate who’s...
