Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza & Wings — Restaurant in Miami Lakes

I have been going to this establishment for many years with my family and have never had any issues. I returned to this location for the first time since the pandemic started, and after the experience my family and I had, I will never be returning. We ordered a Margherita pizza and we asked our waitress to please not have the pizza burnt and requested extra basil (something we have asked in the past several times with no problems) Unfortunately I did not take a picture, but the pizza was burnt to the point where it was black, and the pieces of basil were so minimal they may as well have not given me any at all. When we brought this up to our waitress, her response was “this is how the kitchen cooks it, I didn’t cook it” Obviously we understand that she is not the cook, but when we request an item be cooked a certain way we assume she would relay that information to the kitchen staff. Additionally, my young daughter accidentally spilled her water cup. After finally coming over to help us clean it up, they did not offer a replacement water for my daughter, as well as not providing any napkins for us. And the cherry on the top was the prices have increased. I have no problem with restaurants increasing prices, but I expect the service to be just as good, if not better, than the past. We were extremely disappointed in paying so much for food that I may as well have gone to the freezer section of Publix and bought myself a frozen pizza. This will be our last time coming to this...

We live in Miami Lakes and this was our first and last time that we order from here. First off we placed our order online. When we arrived to pick up our order the restaurant was closed. The door was locked and staff was cleaning up. I double checked my phone to verify the order had been placed. It had been placed and I was charged. I knocked on the door and made eye contact with several of the staff members but was ignored. I was simply trying to verify if the order had gone thru or not and if it hadn’t to make sure I would be refunded. Since I was being ignored my wife told me to call the restaurant. I called when they picked up the phone I told them I had placed an order online the guy says ok I will bring it right out. The fact that the entire staff ignored me gives this place a zero for customer service. I am sure they knew there was an online order that had not been picked up so if you see someone at the door you can go up to the door and ask them if you can help them. The food was mediocre and the wings were tasteless. The only thing that was not bad was the salad. One of the pizzas was burnt the other one was cold but I won’t hold that against them since it was a takeout order. Charging $91 for 2 pizzas, chicken wings, and a salad not worth it at all. Will never try them again. At this price point for pizza, I expect better customer service and more pride in the product...

Not a great outing all around. There isn't a sign to let you know either to wait to be seated or if you should seat yourself. Server didn't take long to come around take our drink order. Came back and took food order. As boring as this review reads was as plain as the interaction with our server was, no personality, no real effort. Thats okay, everyone has those days. Ordered the Margherita, a classic anywhere and was my favorite here. For some reason, it's in a square shape now (should be reserved for Grandma and Sicillian style I think). For another reason, it's just sauce and cheese, no slices or even chopped fresh tomato. And for another reason, they just took a sprig of basil and dropped it in the middle, not chopped, not on the side. Just a whole sprig. Tasted fine, well done, crispy edges, chewy middle. The food wasn't dropped off by our server, wasn't asked if we needed anything else, not a single refill or offering of another beer. No one asked how the food was. Paid in cash and asked for my change, server took longer than 10 minutes for us to just get up and leave. Needs it more than I do I guess. One thing I will give them, I did ask to try the foccacia bread and was brought two small pieces and wasn't charged for it. Having been a server I wouldn't have been surprised a charge for a side of bread so that was nice. And that bread...
