I came to Mission BBQ expecting a good meal. I left wondering if I should propose to the brisket.
First off, shoutout to Cheryl, the community ambassador, who greeted me like we were long-lost cousins coming back from a BBQ-less land. She’s got the energy of a cheerleader, the hospitality of your grandma, and the leadership of someone who definitely knows where the secret sauce is hidden (literally and metaphorically).
Now, the staff? Top tier. Brie made sure my order was perfect—she’s the kind of person who remembers your name AND your favorite sauce. Brice brought around little samples of perfection like it was a sacred artifact. And Madison? She checked on me just the right amount, not too much, not too little—like the Goldilocks of great customer service.
Let’s talk about the food. That brisket? Juicy, tender, and smoky like it had been hugged by a loving oak tree for hours. If brisket could win a Grammy, this would’ve been the Adele of smoked meats. And the fries? Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside—basically little golden miracles that made me question why I ever settled for soggy drive-thru sadness.
All in all, Mission BBQ Miamisburg isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a delicious, patriotic, customer-service-filled adventure where everyone treats you like family, but better, because they feed you brisket instead of asking when you’re going to settle down and start a family.
Will I be back? Already planning my next visit. Might even bring a ring. For the brisket.
May 2024:
I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional service my family and I received at your restaurant today, at the special opening. From the tastings being handed out to those of us in the line, to the warm greeting at the door, to the impeccable attention to detail throughout our meal, every aspect of our dining experience exceeded our expectations.
Your staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, and their professionalism and friendliness truly made our visit memorable. The food was outstanding, and we appreciated the care that went into every meal. We were not expecting to have a place to sit since it was packed, so we asked for our 5 meals to be in to go containers. When I picked up the 5 boxes to take to the table, I was asked by every team member if I wanted a bag, no less than 5 times as I walked across the restaurant. I didn’t want a bag, but they were ON IT trying to help. It was truly impressive.
I want to give special attention to Cheryl. I met Cheryl at the VFW meeting last week. She visited us and gave the most passionate talk about Mission BBQ that one could imagine. She made an instant believer out of me, which led me to some research which solidified that belief if your company. To say she did a fantastic job pales in comparison to what should be said. I mean it when I say she should be THE traveling ambassador for Mission BBQ. If you ask around, I’m certain others will share that sentiment. Her passion and sharing it with us was the reason we visited today. She truly is a rock star- you need to meet her if you have the opportunity!
Please also extend our thanks to your entire team for their hard work and dedication to providing exceptional service. We look forward to returning soon and continuing to enjoy the wonderful dining experience your restaurant offers. I also left my coin which was already placed in the display case.

Read moreI've been dying to try out Mission BBQ and we finally went yesterday on 9/11 to get a carryout order right before the dinner rush. Honestly, I was not impressed with the food OR the poor service we received on this day. The pickup door isn't actually where you go to pickup your carryout order and they will let you stand there for several minutes and force you to walk around to find an employee who will then direct you to another area. Once there and picking up the food, the lady said "Wow, someone was sure hungry!" which felt like an insult and we didn't appreciate it.
On to the food. I ordered the pick 3 meats while my wife ordered the turkey meal. I got the brisket, jalapeno sausage and yard bird. The yard bird was decent and so was the sausage, but none of the food we received was anywhere near hot. Luke warm mostly. The sausage was dry and not juice at all, the dryness is what made me not like it as much. The brisket was indeed ordered moist but I felt like I got way more fat than meat and the meat I did get was dry even with fat right next to it. We both enjoyed the turkey, it was dry and we like dry turkey.
We also tried the mac and cheese, corn pudding, and carrot cake. The mac and cheese was good, it reminded me of Popeyes Mac and cheese without the grease. The corn pudding tasted like it had onion in it which made it have more of a hushpuppy taste to me, we both enjoyed it. The carrot cake was also a hit. But none of the sides were hot either. The free cornbread was dry but tasty!
All in all we spent $47 and were not satisfied with the temperature of nearly anything, the quality of some of the meat, and the service. I would probably try them again but next time get cheaper things like sandwiches that way if it sucks I'm not out a...
Read moreI was really excited to hear that Mission BBQ had opened up near us. I love good BBQ (who doesn't?) and went to try it out. It was pretty busy as it was a military appreciation night. With Wright-Patterson nearby, the crowd was completely understandable. Even with the crowd, the wait wasn't too long at all. The line moved quickly, and orders were going out steadily.
When it was my turn to order, I was greeted by a friendly and enthusiastic staff member. I ordered the half chicken, a platter with pulled chicken and sausage, as well as a large side of mac and cheese. I was a little perturbed when I was selecting my sauces, and the staff member dismissed my fondness for vinegar-based sauces and told me I should get their white sauce instead. I politely declined, telling her that I don't like white sauce, and she insisted that she'd add it to the bag. I get trying to push favorites, but if a customer knows what they want, don't tell them their decision is wrong.
My wife enjoyed the pulled chicken and sausage. The chicken was seasoned well, and the pork had a great cook on it. My chicken was another story. The meat that was there was pretty good. However, the chicken was tiny, and the exterior had way too much seasoning on it. I'm not asking for anything crazy. Just pull the seasoning back a bit and get some chickens that are a resistable size. I don't feel that they'd much value at all with that meal option as is.
We might come back again, but we felt that we get more value at the BBQ spot we...
