First of all, I received an email of No show and a charge of $50 per person on the credit card on file. Total of $300. The table assigned to us was in a location that when it rains you ca get wet. We started getting sprinkled and asked to get another table. The second table they gave us part of the seats were completely wet. No common sense. It was last Sunday and it was raining. Finally, I suggested to get an empty table in the middle and the said okay. The food presentation was beautiful; however the taste was average. The whole branzino I ordered was tasteless and found a couple of fish bones after they deboned it. The band show up after 9:30 pm and you can barely listen to the singer. I was told when I made the reservation that the band starts playing at 7:30 PM on Sundays. When the bill came we were told to do the math and tell them how much to charge each credit card. While I was doing the math, I realized we were overpaying for drinks and service fee we did not consume. The manager, Tony came and very rudely left and brought a new bill with the proper charges. I had to do the math again to verify and split the charges including taxes and service fee per couple. The waitress overheard I was going to write a review and notified him. He came to apologize for the misunderstanding and even said they were able to charge each couple for their own bill. It didn’t bother me to do the math; but I should have charged them a service fee for doing their job. My experience in general was below average. Company was great, decoration of the place was beautiful, service horrible, and food not what I was expecting. I will not come back to this restaurant again. Welcome to Amazónico Miami. Hope their improve their customer service, common sense, and add some flavor to the...
Read moreWe’ve heard so much good things and recommendations about this place on social media so we will thrilled to visit on Monday. However, little did we know we have experienced the worst dinning experience ever. Our hostess was really nice and friendly to help us check in with the reservation and lead us to the table upstairs. There were a couple of tables upstairs, but not busy or crowded. There were also plenty of staffs, helping with the tables or standing in the corner/ bar area. However, after sitting down for 20 minutes, we were not offered water or menus, not even a single staff have greeted us or acknowledged our presence. The servers were helping the table right next to us, but did not come over to greet us or acknowledged us whatsoever. We work in the service industry so we totally understand when service could get slow at times and sometimes as customers we don’t see the full picture. BUT 20 minutes, wow, this is just mind blowing to us, no menu, no waters, no nothing. Let alone it was not even busy, there was plenty of staffs doing absolutely nothing that could have come over and talked to us. We felt really uncomfortable and unwelcomed as we were the few people of color there that night. We really hope that our race and ethnicity has nothing to do with the way we were treated here. Disappointing is an understatement for what we have experienced at the Amazonico. We could say nothing about the food and service since we received none. And based one the amount of one star reviews on here, the owners and management obviously do not give a single penny about how poor the service here so why...
Read moreThis restaurant was unfortunately not as great as expected. The drinks and small tapas plates were both very overpriced for what you get. The cocktails are promoted as extravagant and lavish, but in reality, they’re just served in fancy cups with maybe one shot of alcohol — not worth spending $30–$32 each.
The food itself was underwhelming, with very small portions and mediocre flavor. Our waitress repeatedly tried to upsell us every time we ordered, pushing us to add extra dishes we didn’t want. The service overall felt a bit manipulative and gimmicky.
The layout of the restaurant is also uncomfortable — the tables are placed way too close together. Within minutes of being seated, I was asked twice to move so the party next to us could get in and out. My elbow kept getting bumped throughout dinner by other guests and servers bringing food past us.
Another odd experience: our server asked us to write a positive Google review right there at the table in exchange for a free dessert. So if you’re reading overly positive reviews online, keep in mind that some may have been written under that incentive.
The restaurant also enforces an unnecessary “dress code,” which feels out of place for its location in Brickell. They even have model-type hosts or bouncers outside to enforce it, which adds to the pretentious vibe.
While the space itself is pretty and has potential, the overall experience felt artificial and overpriced. Between the pushy service, small portions, and gimmicky atmosphere, it’s just...
