Update: Gave them another try. All 4 of us again. Busy Sunday. This time customer service was not only on point, they went ABOVE AND BEYOND when our order took a little longer than expected, gave us complimentary macaroons (delicious) and discounted our bill - without being asked for any of this, they just went out of their way to accommodate. Nice job guys! Your delicious pancakes are worth the wait! ❤️
Original post: Second time here, Saturday. The food gets 5 stars! Its delicious! But, there's a huge drawback…if you go with more than one person, (ie, a party of 3 or more) BEWARE - THEY CAN ONLY MAKE 2 ORDERS AT A TIME. Meaning, the other people in your party wont get their food until 15-20 minutes after the first 2. My husband and I brought our 2 boys here on Sat morning. We each ordered pancakes. Our food was brought out first and we waited forever for our boys’ orders. After 15 minutes, I asked the staff about the rest of our order and they told me “WE CAN ONLY MAKE 4 PANCAKES AT A TIME” 😳 Whaaaaat? Each order is 2 pancakes, meaning they can only make 2 orders at a time, and pancakes take 15-20 minutes to prepare. This is a major franchise! Tell me how this makes any sense. I will say that this location is staffed by a bunch of kids who seemed more intent on shooting the breeze than providing customer service. That doesn't bother me so much as long as the food is good, but the fact that my husband and I were finished with our food before our boy’s food arrived earned them 3 stars. For their overpriced (although delicious) pancakes, I expect more. Do better guys! ($80...
Read moreI finally was able to visit this place after realizing it is one of the few (if not only) places in Miami that make soufflé pancakes (a.k.a. Japanese pancakes). The ambience and lighting were just right, and the decorations were very fitting for the café. I was pleased to find that this location offered a larger variety of pancakes than what I was exposed to in Chicago. I tried the Signature Pancake, which was a standard soufflé pancake with strawberries, blueberries, and banana along with whipped cream. It was the perfect consistency, and did not have that overwhelming sweetness that American pancakes have. The owner was present as well and very attentive to all the guests. Additionally, he even let us have a complimentary dessert for a potential addition to their menu! Upon reading the negative reviews, I realized that the majority don't even know what a soufflé pancake/Japanese pancake is supposed to taste like, feel like, or even what its temperature is supposed to be like. For those who don't know, soufflé pancakes take time to make, so those people complaining about the wait time were clearly expecting something of a lower quality. The whole idea of these pancakes is to enhance the airiness by using egg whites, which is why they can take 15 to 20 minutes to make. Since they are more airy and fluffy, they tend to maintain a relatively warm temperature, but are never sizzling hot. I'll be coming to this location more often because there wasn't anything that I...
Read moreFluffy Fluffy Dessert Café - Wynwood, Miami
Fluffy Fluffy is a super cool addition to the Wynwood scene—just the kind of spot the area needs to diversify its offerings. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, and they offer a 15% discount for current students, which is a great perk considering the pricing leans on the higher side.
Their desserts aren’t overly sweet, which was a pleasant surprise. The signature “fluffy” was light, airy, and really enjoyable. Same goes for the sandwich—served in a waffle format, though not a huge portion. Coffee is just okay (you’ll find better nearby), but the sparkling blueberry drink was a standout—I’d definitely stick to that on future visits.
Parking is relatively easy since it’s located near the entrance of Wynwood, an area that hasn’t yet hit the same high traffic as the heart of the district—just a couple blocks over.
The one area for improvement is customer service. While not terrible, the experience would benefit from a more welcoming and upbeat staff presence. A little more cheer and hospitality could go a long way in encouraging return visits.
Overall, this place has strong potential. The food is unique, the atmosphere is promising, and with a boost in hospitality, it could become a staple in the...
