Healthy & Happy Cafe — Restaurant in Miami

I’ve been to this place a few times. Their quality has just gone downhill. I decided to give it another try this past week and I don’t know why I did. I ordered my usual Elvis bowl. The chicken was so dry. As if it was pre cooked and stored, and then cooked again whenever an order came in to be served hot. Not knowing that this dries the chicken. I’m a chef, I would know. Wonder how long it’s been stored. Same happened to my last visit with the chicken and sweet potato. Overcooked or cooked too many times. The food was dry and tasteless.

Once the lady behind the counter asked if I can order something else that didn’t have turkey because the turkey smelled bad. Makes you wonder how long they store food. It was just money thrown down the drain. And their prices are up there.

I paid $18 for a bowl that was bland and tasteless. I was very excited to delve into my bowl containing rice, avocado, spinach avocado and Ahi tuna. The first four bites were decent, but as I got to the bottom of the bowl it was just plain spinach. No dressing, no seasoning, nothing just plain spinach. When I looked around the restaurant to get help none of the employees asked my if I was enjoying my bowl, they were just talking amongst themselves. Finally when I decided to get up and ask for some alternative sauces that will complement the bowl, I had to suggest my own. Very unsatisfied with this experience, I expected more from an $18 bowl. The food was so good specially for it being healthy, it tasted really nice and the variety was abundant. Sadly, the waitress was really rude. We ordered a bowl at 10:30am and she kept repeating it was a lunch plate like she didn't want to serve us the food. On top of that, after we ordered she kept talking to us with a mean attitude as in we had said something bad. I was nothing but nice to her despite her bad attitude.
