I don't normally write reviews for restaurants, but I was extremely disappointed with the food from this place. I am a huge shawarma lover and always want to try new shawarma places when I visit different cities. The restaurant had a 5 star review, so I had great expectations for it. First of all, when I went in the restaurant, the music was super loud so I couldn't even hear what the cashier was saying and had to ask him what he was saying multiple times. Moreover, he couldn't hear me until I repeated my order 5 times. What kind of restaurant has the music this loud where I can't even order my food properly? That's just asking for mistakes when ordering. I will admit I liked the fact that workers were wearing masks and had a plexiglass shield in front of the cashier for COVID-19 safety precautions; HOWEVER, the cashier's mask kept slipping down when he talked and he would talk to the side of the glass and get closer to me to hear me better to the point where the glass was not between us anymore, which defeats the purpose of these safety precautions. Furthermore, my order took at least 15-20 mins to be ready, and that's fine IF there is a lot of food coming.. BUT here is the worst part: I ordered chicken shawarma in a rice bowl and the container was only half full. Most of it was just rice and veggies. There was BARELY any chicken in it and the chicken pieces were super small, like one third of the length of my pinky finger.... Or less. It's like this restaurant was skimping out on me and basically scammed me. How does it take that long to give me basically no food? The flavor was also just so bland. The sauces were alright but there was basically no meat, so I was just eating rice, veggies, and sauce. Overall, not impressed with the food, flavor, or service. If you're looking for a good shawarma place, I highly recommend searching for another. This place is a mirage. Looks good on the outside but terrible...
Read moreI’ve been to this restaurant multiple times, and I honestly like everything about it! It’s a new and modern Mediterranean spot with a cool, stylish design. All the furniture is in great condition, and everything inside is always spotlessly clean. The staff are always friendly and nice to me, which I really appreciate. I usually come here for lunch, and during lunchtime it’s usually not too busy, which I personally like. You can place your order in person at the counter, or use one of the self-order machines. Through the machine, you can also customize your meal - add or remove ingredients, or leave special instructions. I’ve done that a couple of times and my food always came out just the way I wanted. When the place isn’t busy, they make and bring your food pretty fast - usually within 12 minutes. The menu isn’t very big, but it has all the essential Mediterranean dishes. I’ve tried a few different things and everything always tasted fresh and delicious. They do an especially great job cooking chicken! My top 2 absolute favorites are the Chicken Kebab and the Chicken Shawarma Wrap. I also love their French fries; it is always super crispy and flavorful. And I have to mention the garlic sauce - it’s so tasty, I always ask for extra! They also have a great selection of drinks. I always go for soda from the self-serve machine, which has lots of fun flavors. My absolute favorite is the Pineapple Cream Soda - it’s super refreshing! Plus, refills are free, so that’s a great bonus. Price-wise, this place isn’t exactly cheap. Some items are definitely a bit overpriced. But the good news is you’re paying for high-quality food, so I really can’t complain. I usually spend around $20 for one food item and a drink. The portions are big and filling, so in my opinion, one meal is more than enough to get full. I absolutely recommend visiting this...
Read moreThis place seems to be VERY underrated. Boyfriend and I stopped by after walking around looking at all the cool murals in Wynwood for 4-ish hours. We were definitely hungry but maaaaaan this food would have hit the spot even if we weren't that hungry.
We both got the icon burrito with chicken along with a side of fries. I got the vanilla agave soda (highly recommend; it's like a tastier cream soda) and boyfriend got the cola, both from the soda machine. Boyfriend got the cucumber yogurt sauce on the side and I got the bbq tahini. I liked mine but he was OBSESSED. He is a very picky eater (especially with Mediterranean food, which is his favorite) but when I say he DEVOURED his burrito (and asked for more cucumber yogurt sauce), I'm not kidding. He said, and I quote, "if we lived here this would absolutely be a regular spot for us". So yeah, everything was super fresh and delicious!
Plus, the two guys working at the restaurant were so friendly! And the restaurant itself has a really cool atmosphere, with chill music, pillows on the benches, gorgeous Mediterranean/Moroccan lanterns, and even barstool seating. The ordering process is super easy, done through screens at the front of the restaurant, and then you pick up your food when your name is called. The kitchen is open so you can watch the entire process. The food is Mediterranean, with a few fusion Mediterranean-Tex/Mex dishes like the burrito and the shawarma quesadilla (which I only noticed after we had already ordered 😔). There are "specialties" as well as the option to create your own meal, including wraps and bowls.
Anyways...all that to say that this place should be way more full of people than it was when we ate at 6-7pm. It's well...
