Miami Spice often leaves diners with mixed impressions: while the program is intended to showcase restaurants at an accessible price point, too many participants reduce quality, portion size, and service in the process. MAMO Italian, however, breaks that mold entirely, transforming the experience into a celebration of refined dining that not only meets expectations but surpasses them in every regard.
From the outset, MAMO’s Miami Spice menu stood out. Instead of cutting corners, the restaurant curated a four-course experience that was perfectly balanced, abundant, elegant, and memorable—an offering that demonstrated confidence, creativity, and a genuine desire to impress.
The meal began with a striking Gamberi Rossi with burrata and mango—a dish that combined freshness, delicacy, and a subtle interplay of flavors. This was followed by a Rigatoni all’Amatriciana, prepared in classic style yet elevated by depth and consistency that spoke to the chef’s mastery. The New York Strip with roasted potato, peppercorn sauce, and rosemary oil proved equally impressive: hearty, savory, and brimming with character. To close, the Millefoglie al pistacchio e lamponi delivered both elegance and indulgence, a dessert that was as visually appealing as it was delicious.
The experience was further elevated by an exceptional wine pairing: Ca’Marcanda, Gaja, Promis 2021, a bold and structured Tuscan Merlot that harmonized beautifully with each stage of the meal.
Beyond the cuisine, MAMO excelled in ambiance and service. The dining room struck a perfect balance between classical charm and modern sophistication, creating a setting that felt both elegant and welcoming. Service, meanwhile, was impeccable—professional yet warm, attentive without being intrusive, and consistently polished throughout the evening.
What truly distinguishes MAMO is its strategic intelligence: where other restaurants use Miami Spice as a marketing tool by scaling back, MAMO does the opposite. They seize the opportunity to present their very best, building trust and loyalty with guests who will gladly return—outside of Miami Spice season—and pay premium prices for premium quality.
Verdict: MAMO Italian transforms Miami Spice into an art form. With flawless service, inspired cuisine, and a sophisticated atmosphere, it is a restaurant that delivers not just a meal, but an unforgettable experience. Highly...
Read moreAfter enjoying the dining experience at MAMO in New York City, I was excited to try their new location in Miami, so I brought my family for dinner. Upon arriving, we were seated and promptly ordered cocktails for my wife and me. However, the cocktails took longer to arrive than our appetizers, which was acknowledged by both the manager and the waitress. They kindly offered us the first round of drinks on the house, and our appetizers were enjoyable.
We ordered a pizza for the kids, which came out in a reasonable time. However, when our main entrées arrived, I was disappointed. I had requested my pasta to be made with pink sauce, a mix of marinara and Alfredo, but they brought out the wrong order. Even after correcting it, they forgot to include the protein in my pasta. Unfortunately, the dish was subpar.
Sadly, this experience did not live up to the standards set by the New York location. The quality of the food was not the same, and while the service was okay, it didn’t compensate for the lackluster meal. I don't visit restaurants expecting free food or drinks; I go for a quality experience, and MAMO Miami failed to meet that expectation.
Additionally, getting to the restaurant was a bit challenging. They don’t inform you that parking is in a residential building next door, and unless you call ahead, you wouldn’t know how to find the valet parking. Overall, I don't see myself returning to...
Read moreMamo is a fantastic Italian–French fusion restaurant that truly delivers on flavor, service, and atmosphere. We visited during Miami Spice, and the price-to-value ratio was honestly unbeatable for the quality of food and drinks offered. Every course felt carefully crafted, with a balance of creativity and authenticity that made the whole meal memorable.
We started with the burrata as an appetizer, which is an absolute must—it was creamy, fresh, and the perfect way to kick things off. For mains, we tried the caccio e pepe pasta and the shrimp with pistachio. Both dishes were outstanding: the pasta was silky and flavorful without being heavy, and the shrimp had such a unique combination of textures and tastes that it really stood out.
The drinks were another highlight of the evening. My personal favorite was the Violeta, which was fun, refreshing, and unlike anything I’ve tried before. And then, of course, dessert. The tiramisu deserves a category of its own—light, rich, and easily one of the best versions I’ve had anywhere.
The service was exceptional, attentive, and welcoming, while the ambiance was quiet, classic, and sophisticated without feeling pretentious. Overall, Mamo is a must-visit and absolutely a place I’ll be...
