Overhyped and very underwhelming. I feel like those giving Nusr-Et Steakhouse 5 stars are helping with the development of Fool's Paradise where places like Nusr-Et Steakhouse will have the prime location. This place asks much of you but falls incredibly short on delivering on their side of the deal. Some reviewers are suggesting that if you give this place low reviews you just can’t afford it. That is the most illogical argument I have heard. You can certainly afford something and still recognize that what you get is not a good value proposition.This is clear here.

We were in town for the Super Bowl and during that time we enjoyed many of the fine restaurants in the area. I would expect that the experience at Nusr-Et Steakhouse would stand above all and the flavors of the food in my memory forever, but it was in fact the most average falling far too short of what the expectations they set.

The Wait. Amature hour. Our reservation was for 10:30 yet we did not get seated until 12:15 AM, and then we felt like we were being rushed. Nusr-Et Steakhouse does not understand their own table turnovers or crowd and therefore are unable to target reservations with any hint of moderate accuracy. Never have I had reservations at a place and had to wait so long past the reserved time, especially at a high-end place like this. You think they would at least offer some snacks, water or update you - they don’t. Their thinking is that you should feel lucky to even be there, so you all can wait.

The Drinks. I don’t mind paying a premium for quality drinks, but again, I don’t like feeling like I am being taken for a ride. Why are the drinks $30 for 1.5 ozs of Vodka and some mixers? I could see if they used some super high end Vodka made with melted glaciers but they don’t. The bartenders make a nice drink but nothing that special. I have been places where they literally chop the ice off a block, shave and shape for your glass, and then use the best spirits and fresh grown botanicals to mix amazing unique drinks with real bartender flair, and they were not $30. Also, $13 for a Corona? lol.

The Food Disappointed. My first thought was “really? this is it? Seriously, out of all the restaurants we tried during our time in Miami, Nusr-Et was my least favorite. We got the Tenderloin for 3, some sides, and dessert. FIrst they brought the tenderloin out and then cut it into thin slices. They then throw it on a hot plate loaded with some salty butter mix. While the meat sits they shove bread on the plate and let that bread soak up the salty butter. When it is finished they salt everything. There is no sear on the meat, no natural juices trapped within, no flavor to crave, and many bites were much too salty to be enjoyed. The portion was also a joke for what they asked. The sides were nothing bad or exceptional. I actually had Truffle Mashed at another restaurant and those destroyed the mashed at Nusr-Et. Also, there were 2 servers doing the tableside “show” and they were arguing/ordering back and forth the entire time - really nice.

The Show I heard much about the show. Spoiler alert! Here it is - they take 20 seconds to slice meat at your table then they salt it. Oh Wow! Make sure to film it so you don’t forget what it looks like to slice meat! Maybe you can study the video so you can go home and try slicing something!

Give me a break! You would save more time and lose less by being pick pocketed in the streets. The low reviews are accurate.
