My first visit to Middletown Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe. I ordered grilled beef served with Horseradish sauce, fruit cup (but my order mistakenly was entered as grilled vegetables - but they were delicious), Greek salad and a pita chip. The beef was seasoned and grilled perfectly - I truly enjoyed the taste, texture and temperature. I think I'm still confused about the difference between Greek and Mediterranean salads (having thought Greek salad doesn't have lettuce), but my Greek salad, with lettuce, was delicious. The nominal upcharge for the grilled vegetables was worth it because they were scrumptious. I was surprised by how delicious they were. The horseradish sauce was mild and a perfect complement to the savory beef. I enjoyed every single bite of my meal! I was disappointed when the plate was empty, for the pleasure had come to an end. And by the way, the sweet tea was perfect in ratio of sugar to tea, and it was refreshingly delicious! I was disappointed when I went for a refill only to discover there was none left, as it was 15 minutes before closing. I was pleased I had decided to visit Taziki's for dinner. Actually, I had looked at several other Greek restaurants to eat dinner but they all closed by 8:00 p.m., so I chose to eat at at Taziki's because they were open until 9:00 p.m. I felt welcomed by the restaurant's atmosphere, and there is a delightful patio to enjoy outdoor dining if one desires. My only complaint, and it's a complaint I have with many restaurants over the last 15 to 20 years not just Taziki's tonight, and that complaint is my displeasure by restaurant staff sweeping and putting chairs on tables 20 to 30 minutes before closing. Such activity does not necessarily need to leave me with a feeling of being rushed, but my temperament and personality tend to lead me to feel rushed and a bit uncomfortable; the early closing actions take away a bit from the dining pleasure when there is sweeping and cleaning activity going on around me. It seems to be a nearly ubiquitous activity in the industry anymore, but I don't appreciate it. I suspect it's a mixture of staff wanting to get out and go have fun or go home and owners not wanting to pay more than they have to for extra time after closing hour. I live closer to the Taziki's in St Matthews but I enjoyed my experience at the Middletown more than I do typically at the St Matthews location. I intend to return to Middletown because the meal was fabulous, and I found the staff to be helpful. When I inquired about the salad, although I detected a slight language barrier, the young man was prepared to get me a fruit cup until he helped me see and realize the grilled vegetables on the plate under the very appetizing in appearance beef that was calling me to devour it! I love vegetables, so I told the young man everything was fine and I didn't need the fruit cup; with the grilled vegetables, the order was complete. Actually, I'm kind of glad it happened, because now I know the grilled vegetables at Taziki's can be delicious! I appreciate the cooks who prepared my meal wonderfully, as everything was delicious, and I appreciate the staff doing what they could to make my visit a pleasure.

Yum, yum, yum! The fresh grilled salmon, basmati rice, and Greek salad. I think I eat Taziki's at least twice a week. The service is wonderful, and it's not fast food. Your food will take a minute to cook because they are making it fresh (fresh being the keyword). So delicious. It is a wonderful, nutritious, and light meal that leaves you full and energized versus dragging. I don't think you could go wrong with anything you choose, including the baklava. Highly recommend.

I've been to Taziki's several times, tried lots of the "feasts," and it's always been good. Todays salmon feast, though, was exceptional! The huge slab of salmon was perfectly seasoned and grilled. Hot, tender and flaky atop a nice portion of tasty roasted red potatoes. A very generous salad with a variety of fresh greens, tomatoes, red onions, pimentos, cucumbers, olives, feta cheese, and pepperoncinis was a perfect cool and crisp accompaniment. Quite pleased.

At about 7:00 pm on Saturday night, this was about the only place I could get into without having to wait an hour. It was a nice atmosphere and the menu looked good. I ordered an entree and a lemon water, cafeteria style. I was given just a water. The condiment station on our way to the table had no lemons in the designated bowl. After we sat down, a waitress came by and asked if there was anything we needed. I asked for lemons, and she pointed me to the condiment station which was, at that point, replenished. I wondered why she bothered to ask. My lamb was tender and juicy, the salad fresh and crisp, and the dressing served on the side was perfect. However, the rice seemed a little dried out, and portion sizes over all were skimpy. The menu said "pita chipS" (emphasis on the "s") were included with the entree. There was one dried out pita chip served as a garnish. I asked the waitress about the single chip, and was told more chips would cost $1. I pointed out the menu was misleading and I'd like to complain to management about it. No manager ever came to speak to me. I didn't bother to find out how many more dried out pita chips that $1 would buy.

If your starving and there's no place else to go, I guess this would be a good stop to make, especially if you're thinking about eating relatively healthy small portions. But if it's not restaurant rush hour, there are plenty of other better choices to make in this area.

If the restaurant put as much effort into the service as the quality of the meat, and were a little less stingy with the goods, they would have earned a 5 star...

My family eats at Taziki’s in Middletown quite often. We love everything we’ve tried there so far, especially their salads! We stopped in for dinner about a month ago and I found a hair in my dinner. By the time I found it I was almost finished eating so I just threw the rest away, without saying anything. It grossed me out but I felt rude complaining. Fast forward to last night, my family ordered Taziki online and did curbside pickup. I got the Greek salad with grilled chicken and rice. As I was cutting up the chicken to add to the salad I found a long black hair in my food yet again. I have blonde hair so I knew there was no way it was mine. I turned to show my boyfriend and lo and behold he had a hair in his meal as well. This time I knew I had to say something. I was so disgusted. Luckily this time I hadn’t eaten any of it yet. I immediately called and asked to speak to the manager. The GM named Perro began yelling at me over the phone, saying I needed to send him pictures because he didn’t believe me. I sent pictures while we were on the phone and apparently that wasn’t good enough. He then asked me to return the food back to the resteraunt if I wanted a refund. I paid $40 for both of our meals and he said he would only refeund me $12 for the salad because the rest of the food was “fine and didn’t have anything wrong with it”. I have worked in several resteraunts over the years and have never seen a general manager so poorly. As much as I enjoy the food I will not be back. Not only due to health safety reasons but because of the lack of...
