Waffle House — Restaurant in Middletown

Don't get me wrong, I love Waffle House. We usually go to one 2 or 3 times a week. But this particular Waffle House on Shelbyville Rd near the Gene Snyder is AWFUL!!! It took at least 15 minutes for us to be seated. It wasn't because there wasn't any empty tables or counter space, but it was because they hadn't removed the dirty dishes and cleaned everything. When we did get a booth I was almost ready to go but we stayed. I just ordered the Texas Melt Sandwich with onions added and a lemonade. My husband got a cup of coffee and a sausage and biscuit sandwich. While waiting on our order I went to the bathroom and when I got back to the table my husband told me to check my lemonade because when the waiter brought the first glass of lemonade not only was the glass dirty but it had a big ball of gooth in it. He brought the second lemonade in a carry out cut. I checked it and it was good. Also, when I got my sandwich not only did I not get my onions but when the cook cut the sandwich in half it wasn't a even cut. All the egg was on one half of the sandwich and the other half only had the bread cheese and ham. I only ate half of it of course and I was ready to go. The waiter never came back to see if we needed anything or bring our check. We just got up and went up to the counter to pay and wait of course while they find our bill. I only paid for our meal and NO! I did not leave a tip and I never do that. I always leave a decent amount for a tip. But the service was horrible. The waiter should have seen how NASTY that glass was before he brought it to the table. This place was filthy but several of the ones working there was all huddled around the cook joking and laughing and having a good time. That's fine. You won't be seeing me...

This is the waffle house across from Walmart. In shelbyville.Ky. .....Very disappointed. ... Many empty tables but all were full of dirty dishes.. many staff just standing around. N stared at us as though we were creatures from outer space... when they did Clean it off they took a rag from a pan got dripping water all over the clean steak knives above.. wiped the table throwing all the excess n crumbs on the floor. . The waiter was friendly and attentive. Took our orders.. I ordered the chicken melt hashbrowns bowl with 2 over easy eggs n a side of gravy. My hubby ordered the patty melt hashbrowns bowl.. his order came first but it wasn't a bowl it was a patty melt on toast with hashbrowns on the side..he doesn't like to complain so ate it.. my chicken melt came the eggs were over hard while chopping my eggs into my bowl I found 2 different pieces of plastic under the eggs. I told the waiter he in turn told the manager n they did comp my meal n remade my order.. meanwhile another waitress was mopping the floor. Left bits of food along the sides from not moving the chairs out of the way.. others were stacking dishes very loudly.. if I treated my dishes that way I'd have broken or chipped ones.. really un professional.. we eat at waffle house when we travel as we have come to expect a clean establishment n good food n waitstaff.. like I said the waiter was friendly n did his job n got his tip. but others didn't n that weighs heavy when one expects better.. the manager needs to take a good look at her staff.n how they clean n treat things. and the appearance of...

I went in at 7:30am, there were 5 uniformed employees sitting in the corner, I sat at the bar for a couple of minutes before an employee that was standing at the sink with her back to me turned and asked if anyone had helped me yet. She asked another employee if she wanted to take my order, the other employee was standing at the register eating sausage on a plate, so she finished eating and took my order. While calling out my order this employee took her dirty hands and put a piece of cheese on the togo container and I told another person to throw that one out because she didn't wash her hands. She got an attitude because I watched her eat food in the middle of the restaurant, in plain view of customers, and NOT WASH HER HANDS, then proceed to handle a customers food. If people do this in front of customers, I don't want to imagine what they do out of site. Board of health needs to pay this place a visit! I also think the manager was in the back 🤦🏽‍♀️. Also, take out menu is avg $2 more than dine in menu. Definitely NOT worth it. Will not post video because innocent...
