I walked in around 7:30 pm on a Wed. night, it was empty except for one table with two people at it. I was seated and was given a menu and a glass of water which I asked for right away. There were several works laughing and walking around but nobody came to take my order so after another person walked in was seated I left. It felt like nobody noticed me leaving. I think this might be a good place were locals are welcomed more than a single stranger. I would go back when it's crowded, I bet the service would be better. 3/31/25, I went back a month ago and had the salmon. The fish was done perfect and I loved it but the fries were almost cold and the vegies were cold (supposed to be hot). I went back tonight and orded the salmon but explained to the waitress about the cold fries and vegies. This time they were warm but the fish was too over cooked. I could only eat half of the fish. The waitress came by at the end of the meal and asked how everything was, I told her how disappointed I was as I have bragged the salmon up to my friends. She said, "Sorry you were disapppointed" and walked away. With all the other resturants in the area I won't be back. I feel bad because I like family owned cafes like this one. There is a lot of not so good food on the plate so expect to be full one...

Loved the atmosphere. Loved that some have worked there over 20 years. Loved the size of the meals and the great price! Loved the theme and decorations. Now lets keep the rest just as real... Wished my large portion of reasonably priced hashbrowns were cooked in butter. Wished i was wowed by the recipe and flavor of the pancake like i was the size. Wished the waitress wasnt overly confident in a cook that didnt cook my eggs to order. 9.9 of 10 places i go to eat breakfast cannot or will not cook "over hard eggs" "over hard." People, every one out there, over hard eggs are canary or dull yellow all the way through not just the outside! Its not rocket science it just simply is that. Theres not 4 versions of over hard theres one! Now theres over soft but when you use the two words "over hard" its to be cooked that way. I cook them that wsy same time every time and with butter so they are moist and delish but cooked! If a server is gonna say they know how to cook them then they better know how and do just that or be honest about it. NOW I appreciated going there and am going back tmrrw to try more (just not...

For me, great service and good food has more of an impact than a fancy or 'cool' hangout; Midvale Mining Cafe always leaves me satisfied and happy! Please don't be stuck up here (it's a greasy spoon restaurant), everyone who works here is great and I love that a lot of the staff has 5+ years working here. I love that I've seen some of the kids grow up over the years, and they've also watched my son grow throughout our visits in the years, they make us always feel so welcomed here! Truly, I get some of the best service at this place, and it's one of my favorite places for a late breakfast!

The service is great, everyone is professional, yet kind and warm; support your local community by eating at places like these!

The portions are fairly large, and the prices are pretty cheap. The food isn't the best, but it's good; they are happy to accommodate special orders, too! They service breakfast daily until 2pm. If you like unhealthy and friend foods, or your hash browns extra crispy, they will make you happy! If you ask for crispy hash, they deep fry them for you, and they come out like little french...

This place deserves more that 5 stars. I'm over here snowboarding, so trying to find a place that does really good, home cooked, hearty and filling meals at a great price was unheard of until I came across this little Cafe dinner. I've been 5 times in the last 4 days and I'll be going again. They do amazing breakfasts, discounted main meals before 5pm and there's always a couple meals on special in the evening too, so eating here is also very affordable. The staff are incredibly efficient, polite and very friendly. Despite how busy they always seem to be, the chefs still manage to produce amazing meals at almost fast food speeds. Why would you choose to eat at fast food chains (if you can call it food) when you can eat proper food at a small private business like this... 🤷‍♂️ Perfect for Hungary active people like myself. They're open early enough to grab breakfast and still make the first lifts on the mountain too. But please don't take my word for it, give it a try. I can't see how anyone could be disappointed. The photos do not do it justice btw.

Nice diner with good prices. They have been around since 1985 but the vibe is older to go with the old mining town theme, which I enjoyed. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy but not too crowded and no wait for a table for 4. It didn't look like there were many booths in the restaurant if that matters to you. There is some seating at the counter as well. The service was pretty good overall. We had to wait a bit for refills (a large group came in so I think that was part of it) and bit longer for the check but otherwise no issues. They were very accommodating of requests/changes to the dishes when ordering. I got the sirloin steak lunch special and it was pretty good especially for the money. I really liked the mashed potatoes and the cooked carrots as well as the scones. My friend's mom ordered chicken fried steak and wasn't a fan of the gravy (it was not typical country gravy) but she liked it otherwise. Portion sizes were generous. Definitely would go back and try the French dip and would like to try their breakfast items.

I went here to have a catch up with my grandma and was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere! I really loved the old fashioned diner look, plus it was bustling and just had a nice vibe overall. The servers were quick and polite. They also made sure to check in on us often and let us stay for a decent while after we were clearly finished eating so we could talk and catch up. The diner wasn't super full so that I'm glad we didn't feel rushed. I got The Foreman with hamburger and eggs. It came with toast and hash browns too. The hash browns were a little on the wet or burnt side without much in between, but they were still yummy. The scrambled eggs were VERY nice and soft and the toast was crispy and delicious. Overall, the food was 9/10 (one point off for less than ideal hash browns). I've only been once around lunch, but my experience was great overall! I definitely reccomend this place if you want a unique place to eat.
