Ice House is a neighborhood bar that has been in the area for a very long time. We have visited years ago and it was just a different crowd for us. We visited again just a few days ago and enjoyed our visit. It was a weeknight so there was not many people there. It was also late. We were hungry and other places we visited already closed their kitchen. We figured so did Ice House but let's stop in somewhere near by and have a couple drinks. Then another customer walks in and asks the bartender "Owner" if he had any food and he replies yes Lasagna. We were surprised and asked if we could order some also. He said, yes I have plenty and it is all homemade from scratch. First he brings out some garlic bread that was huge, buttery, garlicky and the crust had just the perfect amount of crunch! Then the brings out the lasagna which was one of the biggest pieces I've seen in a long time. Well let just get to it, this lasagna was absolutely delicious! I could not have gotten better from anywhere else! The sauce, noodles and cheese were perfect! Don't know if he is a small bar owner in the neighborhood or chef that everyone needs to know about. He said he makes a dish daily and it is always from scratch! I will be back to what else he has...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a great experience!!! We felt welcomed the minute we walked in the door! I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness from the bar to the ceiling fans! That says a lot about the care attention this gem is given.
Onto the food, drinks and the service! We ordered the cheese curds and green beans for starters, highly recommend. Drinks, 10/10! For dinner, we ordered a fish fry and boneless wings, and they both did not disappoint. I have been searching for a fish fry that would meet my expectations, 15/10. It was cooked to perfection, tasted fresh, not fishy, and not greasy! To learn that everything is made in house was the cherry on top!
If you are looking for a cozy clean environment, with good people and delicious food, check this place out!!
Thank you Tom, Kyle and Amber for making our first experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a table of 4 with old fashions and jalapcheese curds before dinner. The drinks were okay, but the curds were really good. For dinner we had cod, perch and coconut shrimp with potato pancakes and fries. All came with coleslaw and bread. The portions were huge and all tasted great. The only issue was that it took over an hour to get our dinner. This was because they had 1 server and 1 bartender for a full house, and although they were extremely under staffed, I felt they worked their tails off and were very friendly and attentive under all that pressure. We spent $125 for 2 appetizers, 4 meals and 8 cocktails which i think was very reasonable considering the quality and quantity. I'm sure the staffing issue was a one off so we plan to go again. I highly recommend you...
