INTIMATE VENUE AWARD 🥇 EASY PARKING AWARD 🥇 CLEAN MODERN CLUB AWARD 🥇 GREAT VIEWS AWARD 🥇
Went to see up-and-coming country artist Ashley McBryde on October 28, 2023; doors opened at 7. The line to get in was over a block long. General seating folks waited in the chilly Minnesota 23 degree weather for about 2 hours in a line that stretched around the building and down the street. Kudos to the Uptown staff for their coordinated work on getting the crowd in, then out. And bartenders and door staff who were informed and attentive. Each of the two floors has its own bar and restrooms, and the VIP area in the balcony had its own small bar as well. Overall a well planned-out club with smooth operation from beginning to end. Kudos to the seat check-in folks who made it easy as pie with a smile. We parked in a ramp 1&1/2 blocks down, ($12.00), you can pay on the way out instead of using the kiosks. (It was by the Origami restaurant) We caught a quick meal at the McDonalds across the street, then hit the line and in about 20 minutes we were at our seats on the balcony with a great unobstructed view. The sound was crisp, not too loud and full of color. I didn’t leave with my ears hurting.

Read moreLook, if you aren’t a size 2, don’t get floor seats. I’ve included images for what the seats are - they are tiny, they are resin, there’s no real padding, no cup holders, anything.
I expected it to be theater seating since it’s called Uptown Theater, so I was very disappointed to find these as our seats. This was also for a show that wasn’t a “stand up, dance around” show. Many people around us were asking the staff if there were any adjustments that could be made, and their response was “we’ve told management we need better seats.” The seats could have maybe been fine if they weren’t pressed up against each other, but they were as close together as they could possibly be. No armrests, nowhere to put a drink. I’m not plus size, and I had to sit at an angle to not be making contact with either of the people sitting next to me. I never thought I’d be wishing for one of those folding chairs found in church basements, but tonight I sure did.
The balcony area appeared to have actual theater-like seating. I only know because the balcony area was where the only bathrooms in the venue were.
I could see it being a fun place to be GA standing room, which is why it gets two stars...
Read moreI have no intention of coming back to this venue, ever. The lines outside the venue were poorly kept, I heard 3 different things from different staff as I tried to wait in line for my fast pass AND upgraded lounge. By the time a clear message was passed by the manager they had let a large group of people in front of us, same pass level and everything..lWhen we finally got in we were given incorrect information from the lounge staff, instructed to take a seat, but we were seated in the wrong section. We didn't find this out until the band was on stage. So the Manager, honestly he tried and he really did, tried to find a seat for us but we ended up with awful seats in the balcony almost all the way in the back. It was way too late to try and get a decent spot on the floor even... So I spent all that extra money for absolutely nothing. Yet again, when the issues were brought up they tried to fix it, and offered my friend and I each a drink... But after standing in line outside in the dirt and construction (where they had us paying extra stand) getting there hours early to get a good spot I ended up with awful seats due to staffs error and I just got a free drink.
Will never...
