Not a good value. My $10 bought me a styrofoam container with 50% biryani (rice and a small chicken drumstick), three bite size pieces of chicken tikka masala, two boneless chunks of chicken tandoor, a couple small pieces of naan, and a little sweet item (I forget the name). The biryani was "chunky", with clumps of spice intermixed with unspiced rice. The tikka masala was very creamy and mild, but did not taste like any other tikka masala I've had elsewhere. The tandoori chicken was nothing close to what I would imagine... it appeared to be baked chicken chunks with some spices sprinkled on top, and not the red coated, lightly charred variety one normally associates with "tandoor". The naan was doughy and rubbery rather than being light and crisp in spots like it should. See my photo if it ever gets published. In all, nothing here was "bad". It just didn't seem to be what was expected, and I don't feel that I got very much for my money (after all, rice and chicken aren't the most expensive items to start with). There are three sit-down Indian buffets within several blocks, which all give you slightly-to-superior food, and give you all that you care to eat for about...
Read moreWe had just moved to minneapolis and my wife & I were craving indian food. For someone who had just moved to a new state, the downtown can be a maze. It took me a while to figure out the skyways and find the restaurant. And by the time we reached we were starving. So we ordered samosas and chai since the lunch buffet was already closed. Those were the most delicious samosas i have had in a while in the US. Masala chai was high on salt but eh.. we added some sugar and it was perfect. We ordered some more food and the quality was consistent. So in summary- 1.great food. 2.No restrooms. 3.Quick service. 4.Easily accessible from the skyway hence great location. Weird guy at the reception almost made it a disappointing experience. If i did not know any better i would call the interaction a bit rude from his side. But i guess he was just in a hurry to leave.
So give it a shot if you like indian food and do not have an emergency to go to the restroom. You will enjoy the quality of the food. Which is more than what i can say for some other indian...
Read moreWe recently catered food from this vendor for my sons 1st birthday. We had a specific menu that we requested because we had attended a party and the food was supposed to be “great.”
We learned that communication with the cook and owner isn’t good. For our event we didn’t get what we ordered. We had even went a week prior to ensure we liked the chicken curry. We asked for white eggplant curry - instead the we received onion curry with scattered whole eggplants. We ordered a white curry. The chicken curry was a pool of oil. Awful. Saddened by the miscommunication and the lack of customer service. When a customer orders food for 60+ and has no back up it’s unfortunate. We were really looking forward to having a go to catering place but the experience and response back was so poor. I wouldn’t recommend it for any party/catering. Also, they were late for delivery - when you pay for that service.. and get wrong food...
