I am frequently asked by various businesses to write a review after shopping with them. More often than not, I could take the time to write a quick review stating that the experience was a good one and leave them a good rating.
However I never decided it was worth my time - until now.
I am writing today because my experience shopping at Gittelson Jewelers was tremendous. Mike, Eugene and Molly do business the right way so I wanted to be sure to take the time to share about my great experience.
I stopped in just before Christmas to find something for my girlfriend. All three members of the staff took the time to not just get to know what my price range or desired item was, but really get to know me, my personality, situation, my girlfriend, her likes/dislikes etc. They were friendly and genuinely interested in more than just more than just assuring that I walked out with a purchase. After chatting about jewelry, my girlfriend, their business and looking at maybe a dozen different diamond necklaces and bracelets, Molly remembered that they recently had a new item come into their store. She remembered me sharing that my girlfriend's favorite color was orange so she showed me a pair of fire opal earrings set in 14k gold. They were exactly the type of thing I was looking for, but I was worried they were out of my price range. After seeing that I was very interested in the earrings but was concerned about the price, Eugene offered them to me at a very fair price; even less than what I told them I had budgeted for the purchase. He did this not because he wanted to make some money on the deal, but because he honestly wanted to be sure my girlfriend and I had a great holiday.
Well, I can tell you now that she absolutely loves the earrings. She was thrilled when she opened the box.
The experience that day was a good one, but I wasn't really thinking of taking the time to write about it. The reason that I decided to finally write is because what happened a little more than a month after I made my initial purchase...
I was walking through the skyway and approaching Gittelson's as I typically do several times a week. Eugene must've seen me coming because he stopped me as I was approaching. He remembered my name, my purchase, and asked me about how she liked the earrings. I had spent all of maybe twenty minutes with him over a month ago, and he remembered just about everything from our brief interaction. I'm sure I was one of more than a hundred people that stopped in over the holiday season. I was very impressed not only of his steel trap of a memory, but about his genuine interest in how things turned out. This second interaction had no talk of him wanting to sell me anything else, but of honest interest in assuring that I was happy with the purchase.
I don't purchase jewelry often, but I can assure you that in the future, when I do, I will always stop at Gittelson's first.
Thank you so much Eugene, Mike and Molly! You are...
Read moreAwesome experience! I've walked by Gittelson's every day for the past two years and had never stopped in. When my girlfriend (now fiancé) and I started to ring shop we went to all the local shops; J.B. Hudson, Continental, Eloquent, and even all the mall shops like Kay and Jared for reference. J.B. Hudson and Continental were the only two with decent selection. J.B. had terrible service. We went to J.B. on a Saturday after the gopher game and I think my sweat's gave off the impression that I wasn't their ideal client. My fiancé had a very specific idea of ring that she wanted. She wanted a radiant cut diamond and nobody had them in stock. To see one the jewelry stores had to order them in and schedule a time a week out to take a look.
One day I decided to stop in and take a look at Gittelson Jewelers. I spoke with Mike Gittelson who greeted me and right away started asking me questions about what was important to me in buying a ring. They had radiant cut diamonds in stock as well as a great selection of gorgeous settings. He was never "salesy" or pushy. I told him that I'd come back in once I talk to my girlfriend and try to find a time she could come as well. In the interim she found a ring at Continental that she loved. Price tag was pretty steep and with a cash offer they would only take $500 off. But, it was a nice ring so I put money down on it. I took pictures of the ring so that I could show Mike Gittelson and see what he thought. I walked in and he remembered my name, my girlfriends name, the diamond we liked, everything. I met Molly and Gene and they showed me a gorgeous ring that was very comparable. I gave them the specs of the ring at Contiental and they not only matched the specs but exceeded them. Here's the kicker though, the price was HALF as much. I couldn't believe it. Instantly I put money down. Again, they were not pushy they told me they'd hold the diamond with nothing down. I had a firm deadline of purchase though as I was paying cash with a bonus being paid 5 weeks out. I was going to Miami for NYE with my girlfriend and her family and Mike, Molly, Gene and I were talking about how nice it would be to ask her on the beach. They didn't rush me with my deadline but offered me the ring in the case at no charge to propose to her. I was blown away.
So, we got engaged. I put 10% down on the ring and they had it made. I went in the other day and they by far blew me away with the quality of the work. Their price was very generous as the appraisal came back almost three times as much as what I paid. I couldn't believe it. It's GIA certified and everything is legit.
I strongly recommend any guy shopping for rings go talk to Mike, Gene and Molly for purchasing their engagement ring. I promise you that you will not be...
Read moreWOW, absolutely WOW. From the second I stepped foot into the store, Gene and Molly made me feel right at home, and this is something that is lost in today's fast paced world. Initially I was taken back by how gorgeous everything looked in their storefront, then I find out that all of their pieces are custom made and gave them my first WOW.
I was looking for a special gift for my anniversary, and had no idea what I was looking for. Gene and Molly were able to give me multiple options, all were exquisite. The level of friendliness and professionalism is beyond anything I have encountered in a long time. After looking at multiple pieces, I decided to head over to Macy's to look at their selection as well. I decided on purchasing a necklace at Macy's that I thought would be sufficient....little did I know
As I walked by Gittelsons on the way back to my office, I decided to stop in one more time to look at a diamond necklace that had caught my eye. This is where the Gene and Molly truly stood out. They weren't trying to push me into their jewelry, they were just happy I found something that I liked. After 10-15 minutes of friendly conversation (nothing to do with Jewelry), I took one last look at the necklace that had caught my eye from the beginning. Gene then took it out of the case, and set it next to the necklace I had purchased already for a comparison.
This is when I realized the true quality and beauty of every piece in their shop. Gene and Molly emphasized that they just wanted to make sure that I was happy with my purchase, and that my significant other would be happy as well...second WOW
The stark difference between Glittelson's jewelry and all others is incredible, they truly have some of the most beautiful and unique pieces in the state. Furthermore, their customer service is even better than their product!!!!
Needless to say, I returned the necklace to Macy's, purchased a necklace from Gene, and I am now a loyal customer, and will never buy jewelry anywhere else. I will also make sure that everyone I know at least stops in to visit Gene and Molly, not only are they incredibly friendly, but their knowledge is second to none.
There are three key elements to a successful business; People, Product, and Process. I can assure you Glittelson Jewelers has the best people in the industry, the best product in the industry, and the best sales process.
The final WOW from this experience came from when I gave the diamond necklace as a gift on my anniversary, the first words out of her mouth were "Wow, this is so beautiful, I have never seen anything like this before!" .....and she hasn't taken it off since.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I am looking forward to doing business with you for the next thirty...
