I am quite familiar with Maxwell's. I spent a lot of time there this past winter taking part in outdoor hooka. I loved it however they never let the flame go up high and it was impossible to stay warm! They get an A for effort l. Around this same time I fell in love with their lamb shawarma. I had never tasted anything like it. During this last 3 months I haven't been to Maxwell's and decided to order take it through bite squad. Their shawarma was dry and I also ordered a Philly cheesesteak that was amazing. I also ordered a pizza puff and a sambusa. Their sambusa used to be very big compared to what they are now and they charge $2 for 1 small one via bitesquad. I was disappointed by this. I think Maxwell's maybe slowly declining or they don't care about the quality of their delivery. I will say that the sauce that is accompanied with the sambusa is sweet, tangy and amazing. I love their hooka and customer service is exceptional.

Yo. Absolutely amazing. First time ordering from this place. I grabbed the lamb gyro and fries. The gyro is so flavorful the meat isn't dry and well well seasoned the tahini sauce takes it a step further. My food was hot and ready within the time frame they gave me. Definitely making this spot a go-to for quick and convenient food. Especially at this time of night.

Come down to this little hidden gem down by the city. It's a great little spot where they take care of the food, prices are really great too. Whether you want to much munch on some food, take a break and enjoy some Turkish coffee, or enjoy a bit of ice cream, come on down! And if you need some groceries as well, theres a little convenience store right next door.

note, all photos are of the old business and menu items have changed it appears within a year or so; no more ice cream This review is about the atrocious rice dish, although the gyro was spot on. I would say about a 4 star dish. I wouldn't write home about it but I'd definitely eat it again. This review is about their shrimp & beef rice dish, which was AWFUL. Absolutely bland to the point of being almost inedible. $16 to be disappointed, although one thing is for sure. I definitely "wrote home" about this one. I wrote about how disappointed and depressed I was to eat something so tasteless for so much money. The only person to find this dish exciting would have to be starving from hard labor or relentless combat. I would rather be ripped off in a robbery than be made to eat that again. At least then I'd have an interesting story to tell.

Rice dish was placed in back of fridge after having been covered in Salt, Pepper and Irish Butter. That still wasn't sufficient enough to make the dish possible to enjoy.

Several Days Later

Was starving, had only ate pizza rolls today. Thought to myself, "I know what a starving person would find okay, Rice Dish!" Rice dish was placed in microwave on HIGH for 1:40. After that it came out as golden, steamed, buttery rice. 3/5 star dish, although I was famished, so that earned a star. Some butter and less than 2 minutes in the microwave did more than a cook with an entire kitchen at his disposal could do. A small child could of been a better cook that day... I mean seriously, white rice? come on now? Like, Seriously guys, what is this? The Middle Ages? Haven't traveled the Silk Road quite yet?

Convenience store is nice, expensive minus a smile, but it's close by, so what can I say,...

Only reason for 3 stars is b/c food is really tasty and delish!! (Person I came with that it was just okay). But anyways they are stingy and charge for every little thing. I ordered Maxwells burger and Maxwells mix. We were a first time customer. We were searching for a halal burger place. They claim they are but don't advertise it. Believe me it will only improve your business if you are, not hurt it. Lady behind counter had attitude whole time, was not happy and rolled her eyes when we were confirming it was halal. Whole time did not smile. Never said thank you or you welcome. Only gave us impression whole time, why are you here? I want to go home type of thing....The burger pattie was super thin :(. We got charged for the container it comes in. Something new. Also tax is normal, but besides that got charged a service fee! (of 3.95%). It's not like there are waitress service that you should get changed that. On top of that also upon looking at our receipt we noticed we were overcharged for the burger a whopping 9 dollars. Not what is on menu price. Maxwells mix barely had any cheese curds in it. For a cup of tea (a Lipton tea bag), burger and maxwells mix, no reason why total should be almost $27... for a fast food joint. Workers do not wear mask or gloves. I heard sneezing, didn't see handwashing. (There was a sink there I could see in front of me and no handwashing not to say hands weren't washed in the back afterwardsso don't want to assume.). When ordering tea, the ladys physical hands touched the straw she handed me and she was not wearing gloves. Did not wash her hands before hand either. Of course I didn't use that straw, just...

I went there about two weeks ago for the first time, I always used to drive by this place but never had the interest to go in there. My friend said he wants to meet me there, so I said why not, we went there and he ordered the falafel and I ordered the gyro, since I wasn't hungry. We went in, there was about 2 people ahead of is sitting down and waiting for their food. The place is typical fast food, old furniture, bad lighting, nothing fancy here. We waited for our food for over 35 mins, the cook and the guy that serves the shisha have staring problem. Like, what would cause a man to stare at another man like that? The cook would stare you thru the open window behind the counter. And the shisha boy would stare at you every time he goes to and from the patio. The customer service is non-existent and you can tell how rude they are by the way they respond to reviewers. They are telling people they are not charity or that they don't give free food. Who the hell asked for a free food? People are paying their hard earned money for the garbage you sell. Maybe you should lose your food and shisha licenses. The health dept. should get involved because the place is very dirty, and I wouldn't let my worst enemy use the bathrooms. Anyway, I've never finished the gyro I threw 3/4 of it in the garbage, where it belongs. This place needs to...
