I have loved this place for years. They make wonderful sandwiches and salads. They have great soups. Every sandwich comes with a trip to their "salad bar" of sides which has one of the best potato salads in the world. The popovers are amazing. A side option, or you can buy them separately. My favorites apart from what was just mentioned: Thai crunch salad, Mama Dora, Kenny's California Reuben (on pumpernickel), Borcht and matzo ball soups. Another great sign, a lot of their employees have been here for a very long time. They must be treating them well.

Easy access location in the skyway but how do they stay in business? No greetings nor thank yous, not busy at all. Plenty of seating but absolutely gross tables and grimy chairs. Chicken wild rice soup with almonds was disgusting, overcooked mush with burnt flavors and bits of bay leaves. Mama Dora's sammich was basic: turkey, avocado, tomato and mayo. No lines during noon hour rush, not worth it.

Picked up the Messy Bessy with potato salad for lunch. True to its name I went through the 3 napkins I grabbed. The sandwich, potato salad and pickle were delicious! Great spot for lunch in Minneapolis, reasonable prices, friendly staff.

This could have been a MUCH higher score based on the quality of the corned beef, but here is my experience.

I went to The Brothers Deli at 1:00pm today and ordered the NY size Corned Beef sandwich.

That and a coke were $14.00. When I ordered the gentleman at the register who was not very fluid in English (and sadly I am not fluid in Spanish) gestured at the salad bar and said "salad bar?" I still am not sure if he was asking me if I wanted the salad bar. He didn't give me a receipt and just walked away after I paid.

I got back to my office in Gaviidae and opened the box with my sandwich. There it was. A dry sandwich all by itself. No mustard, no mayo, no sides, no pickle, no nothing. Add to that that it was a rather small (NY Sized?!?) ball of corned beef right in the middle of the bread and it really looked unpleasant.

While the corned beef was AMAZING tasting, the sandwich was dry and not having any kind of side, (or real communication from the person who took my order at the register), having such a small portion and the high price tag for the sandwich makes me very disappointed in the entire experience.

I heard great things about The Brothers Deli. The corned beef tasted good, but the entire experience was left totally flat by terrible service and a lackluster presentation leaving me feeling ripped off.

This used to be my favorite place to get a big deli sandwich and some matza ball soup but things have changed. I went in recently and ordered a cup of matza ball soup and the small version of the pastrami on Rye. As I was walked over to pay, I saw the owner cut a matzo ball in half and feel the middle with his finger to make sure it was warm. When I got back with my food, my soup was luke warm and low and behold, my matza ball was in 2 pieces so I got the matza ball he touched with his hands. Then went to go eat the small version of the pastrami sandwich, and there was not very much meat and it was thin and fatty. I ended up combining what meat there was on one side of the sandwich and finished it in about 4 bites. Just so disappointing especially because I can get much bigger and better pastrami at a number of other places. It also doesn't help that the owner is very crabby and unapproachable, but his support staff is great, so kudos to them. I had swore off Brothers a few months ago because of small portions, expensive prices and bad food and thought I would give it one more chance but sadly I will not be...

Sandwich (which was not what I was going to order) ended up being pretty good. It was the Chipotle Turkey Melt on Ciabatta.

Owner was taking the orders at the front, he was terrible. I couldn't even put in my order before he said, "I know what you want," and then pushed me along and moved on to someone else, whom he was equally annoyed with.

I love, and appreciate, a loud "New York Style" deli, but this was not that, this was blatantly rude.

It's unfortunate that I couldn't order what I wanted to order, I am sure it would have been wonderful. I was in a hurry and just let it slide since I was ordering for multiple people and didn't have the time or opportunity to go elsewhere.

The two people working the register had to apologize to every customer coming through for the owners behavior. I feel that your staff should never have to apologize for you, nor should they ever be expected to work in that type of...
