I use to work here. I do not recommend working here or buying from here. Here is why!
The pay is appealing but that comes at a cost. I am currently serving as an Army reservist and going to college to commission as an officer. With that being said and chic Fila's patriotic environment I thought I was stepping into a comfortable environment. I was completely wrong. I stepped into an environment of immature teenage leaders. I stepped into an environment full of leaders that were chosen based off of friendship status and not leadership. I busted my butt working here for a year and the only compliments I've ever gotten were from customers. I've worked so hard infact when I would choose to take a breather I would be told I'm wasting time literally from a manager who has no credit ability and walks around making sure no one is watching them slack off. I tried to climb the ladder of leadership myself and after being blown off a few times the final conclusion they had for me was that I am "too military". I see that perspective but it was blown way out of proportion simply as I would confront slackers and of course they over powered me in numbers. They don't care for effort they only care for your slavery. I worked with multiple people who were struggling in life and all the managers could do was work them to death and not take any constructive criticism. If you are looking for a job where you can mess around work here but if you are looking to climb the ladder and make a career DO NOT WORK HERE.
From a customer perspective I can absolutely see the truth in these reviews that talk about requests or complaints not being taken and ignored. When I worked there they only payed attention to about 50 percent of complaints and 50 % were purposely ignored by the leads. They make fun of you behind your back I promise you. They only serve because they have to. they have no joy in it.
Food is overpriced but what is really distasteful is the food they throw out. We had homeless people on the street one time and at the end of the night I asked to give the homeless some food. FRESH FOOD. They leads said nope and every night they throw out fresh food. I don't care what the factors are in throwing it out. It was 100% fresh food and they saved time in inventory and money books by just throwing it out.
Im so glad I left I have more money in my pocket I'm more happy and God getting me out of there opened so many more...
We were visiting Mishawaka, IN area and stopped by the Chick-fil-A at the 5517 N Main St. We ordered a 12-pc chicken nuggets meal and other stuff. When the meal was served, my son opened the chicken nuggets box and noticed there was a half piece nugget that looked like somebody bite it. We didn't eat anything and approached to the front counter. They didn't apologize and said they didn't bite it. One server offered to have us another box. I said yes because we are not going to eat this box. We waited for 15min or so, no new chicken nuggets were served. I came to the front counter again and asked when the chicken nuggets would be ready. The shift leader Maythe Ortega stepped in and said they were not making a new box for us because I said no to them. I told her I said yes. But if they were not making it, we would just like to get a refund. Maythe Ortega was very rude and kept an eye on us dumping all the chicken nuggets. Again, no apology, and refunded me and the receipt showed the money with 8-pc chicken nuggets. I told her we ordered 12-pc. She said I saw and counted the nuggets and they were 8. We ordered 12-pc and my son didn't eat a bite. I asked the guy who took our order and he confirmed that we ordered 12-pc. Maythe Ortega looked like we were trying to scam her 1 extra dollar and was very unhappily refunded us the money for 12-pc. Maythe Ortega is not only extremely unprofessional, but also a liar. She did not count the nuggets and were trying to scam us. The other workers at the front counter are way more competent than her. The guy who took our order is helpful and honest. The lady who offered a replacement were were friendly. Maythe Ortega should never be in an important position in service industry. Because of this experience, we will never eat at a Chick-fil-A in future, not only for the poor food quality control, but also the extremely rude and...
Read moreI am very disappointed in the experience I just had here. The food and service was great! It was after we were done eating and my child way playing that my experience turned sour. After my child had been playing for over a half hour and we were getting ready to leave I was approached by a staff member and told I need to take my closed bag of food and drinks out. I explained we we're finished eating and I didn't want to leave them on the table were o couldn't see them because I was the only parent. I was rudely told no food at all and the staff member proceeded to walk away in the middle of me talking. I am not upset by the rules I am upset because I was not the only parent in there with food but the only parent that was spoken to. There was a family that was letting there kid eat in there and left before the staff member came to speak. I am upset because there was multiple parents in the playroom the half hour I was in there with their drinks with staff members walking by and never once spoken to. But for some reason I was singled out because some child was eating food in there while my child was in there and instead of asking questions and talking to everyone; I was singled out. Then after calling the manager to speak to them about how I was offended and that I was not allowing my child to eat and that I don't like to leave my stuff unattended they proceeded to tell me to let my child play first and then eat if I don't want to leave my stuff unattended. Sorry that doesn't work for my child. Also I was told that the situation was explained different and was made to feel like they did not believe me at all and only taking the word of their employee. Needless to say I will be keeping my distance from this store...
