uBreakiFix - Phone and Computer Repair — Local services in Mishawaka

I do not recommend using UbreakIfix as a place to get lasting phone repairs. The technicians at the store are, if nothing else, knowledgeable about the phones that they repair. If you have a broken phone screen, and you need a quick fix, this is the place to go to have it done in 24 hours. However, if you buy the cheaper off-market options, it is very likely that they will not be good permanent solutions. If you’re going to get one of the off-market repair parts when you get your phone fixed here, I very much recommend using that as a temporary measure to the end of buying a new phone all together. While there is a warranty to cover repairs that happen within a year of the initial repair being made, in my experience, across multiple phones, the off-market repair items will not last.

I use my phone pretty often, so it may be that my ample use put a strain on the parts applied, but the longest the parts ever lasted was, at most, 5 months. While I do have a customer service horror story with the Mishawaka location in particular, of an experience, which lead me to my two-star review, but I don’t believe leaving the details in this review would be very helpful. The technicians were knowledge on the repairs they were doing, but any empathy to your current situation should NOT be expected. Repairs usually take several hours, which is not an unfair thing for the store to ask for, but when that time does not lead to a reliable fix, it becomes impossible to recommend the services they provide when the alternative, getting a different device, will ultimately be less taxing on your sanity than dealing with an improperly handled repair.

Two-stars. One for the knowledge of the technician, a second for their ability to intake and output repairs. The lack of empathy to the situation that the store put me into was ASTOUNDING, and I cannot enough stress to you, do NOT use Ubreakifix as a permanent solution to a phone...

Update. After several weeks of use the laptop screen has not presented any further issues and is operating as expected.

The Owner of the branch reached out. He ordered a new screen and mounting kit and informed me of the arrival date so I could drop my laptop off again. The repair was carried out within the time frame agreed upon and after 12 days of normal use there are no issues found with the screen. I was contacted a number of times and updated on repair times.

As such I have moved from 1 to 4 stars.

Dropped my Dell laptop in to have screen replaced. Waited 2 days longer than they said it would take and called. The said the screen they got did not work and they ordered another. I understand vendors do not always ship great equipment but I asked that they be more timely about informing me of issues like this. A week later I called again and was told the vendor noticed a Crack and was sending another, again, I had to call to find this out.

A number of days later I was called and told they were trying a different vendor and it should be a few days. I kept having to call and finding out progress days after they occurred and when I finally got it the screen began falling out from the frame, retaining screw missing and unable to close lid without risk of cracking new screen. Now I have a desktop which can only sit where it is due to the inability of the lid to close unless I close it backwards but then have to protect the screen and keys.

Almost 4 weeks just to be back almost to...

They fixed my phone fine, but lost the sim card tray, and insisted it came in that way "She said she wasn't holding it hostage" ?? They did replace it, but they turned a 3hr job into a 3 day one. Oh, and they never called to say it was ready, ever; I had to constantly call them. Quality of the work 5/5, customer service 2/5. **UPDATE: 90+ days later, of course, my screen failed. white lines on left and totally unresponsive. On a whim, I stopped by to show them, thinking my options were either to go full Karen or bite my lip and pay to fix it again. To my surprise, they replaced the screen, no charge. Even had it done in under 3 hours! Listen, in today's world, where customer service has guttered out, this was a rainbow, sunshine, and unicorns all rolled into one.
