We were out cruising and Never ate there before, or at least that we remember, so went in. We were seated along with menu and tableware. Sat for approx 7 mins before waitress came to table. She was Nice and Smiling and asked what we'd like to drink. Not, good morning or afternoon, my name is ... ! Have you ever been here before? Why is this stuff important to me? because I have been in and out of wait service since I was 15 and now I'm 57 and we eat out all the time. Food was great! We're very particular about taste and we expect our food to be hot when it gets to our table so more than not that is why I gave this a 4 star rating. But.... .... The table wasn't clean as I would have liked it to be, the restroom was clean but I don't want to see a plunger sitting beside the stool, and there was ample coffee based on the size of the coffee cup (I would have rather had a sugar dispenser vs sugar packets and there was more fake sugar choices), and the price for coffee is a little outrageous based on they're making pretty good money on their food and once we got our meal ticket/bill the waitress never came near a table again. it was obvious that there was a manager/owner there and he never once checked on us, and when we got our bill we were not informed that we could pay at the cash register on the way out. I never tried to get the manager's attention about any of this as I didn't want to bring attention to our table by the other few customers that were there (it wasn't crazy busy of any sort and you could see wait people stopping and messing with their phones). I am guessing you'd have to be a regular to get top notch attention?! I will just read everyone else's comments. See pictures.

This is a chain restaurant but one you won't find in the kansas city metro. The next closest location can be found in Derby,Hutchison or Wichita. They are based out of Minnesota. And are continuing to focus post covid. It has a 1970's decor vibe. The coffee was ok 3 out of 5. The pancakes are light and fluffy and deserve a 5 star review. The bacon crisp and seasoned just right 5 stars. The banana strawberry French toast were a tastey treat. They are made with sour dough and creme cheese sauce. They use fresh fruit and which was a nice treat. My only negative is they are not very dietary or allergies restricting the servers may need more training as they don't respect religious non pork eaters. Witnessed a couple ask for no pork. The server served the eggs with bacon, and when they brought it to her attention she brought them an empty plate to move the bacon off the eggs, had this been me I would have been furious. The manager came over and fixed everything she went out of her way to make up for her staffs mistakes. I asked her in passing if they accommodated allergies. And she did mention if it's brought to the attention they will use a fresh pan and clean the grill. Overall I recomend checking this place out.

I went to lunch with my daughter. I'd never been in the Village Inn despite working near it several times. It was quite tasty. I had the chicken fried steak with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The white gravy was excellent and plentiful. I had enough to cover the steak, mashed potatoes plus I had enough to sop my fresh biscuit. One daughter had baked chicken, potatoes, and green beans. The other had a chicken sandwich, crispy bacon and avocado and fries.. Everything was delicious. The waitress was fast and courteous, making sure we had what we needed. The chocolate, peanut butter pie with caramel drizzle was a great end to a wonderful meal. I had plenty of good coffee to go with my meal.

I'm going with 3 Stars because the food was GREAT and nothing terrible happened. However, our waitress went through the motions of a good waitress but really rushed everything. Asked for extra ice in a drink and that didn't happen. 1st time checked on after receiving our food (waitress was not the one to bring food out), she brought the check over that first visit after food arrived. Any other time she came by she just took plates she assumed we were done with (1st time, I definitely was so it was ok). The last time she came by she grabbed a plate that still had food on it, didn't even ask if she could or if the person was done. We were done within 18mins of being seated. While walking up to the register to pay an elderly gentleman had just paid for his and was putting his wallet away; the young lady at the register rushed me up to hand her my ticket to pay before that elderly gentleman even had a chance to turn around. There was no 'how was everything' or anything said other than the total that was due. Another waitress came up to the register while I was paying and the 2 were chatting/complaining about something. There was no 'thank you' or 'see you next time' commentary. So again, nothing Terrible but nothing good to say besides the...
