Came across Lake Missoula Tea at the excellent Hummingbird CafΓ© in Butte, Montana. I so enjoyed the complex but clean flavors that I asked the waitress the name and website of their supplier and as soon as I got home I looked it up.
Long story short, I spent way more than I wanted to. I had intended buying a big bag of "A few of my favorite things", but after placing that in the cart, I decided to explore the website and ended up buying a selection of nine other teas. The order was filled quickly (within a few hours) and arrived in my postbox within a few days.
Everything shouts out quality, care and attention to detail, from the quirky and appealing names to the packaging and finally the flavor of the teas. I have tried out 5 of the nine so far and have not yet been disappointed.
I never been a fan of herbal teas, but that appears to be the result of buying processed teas from local supermarkets. Now that I have tasted the real stuff, that has changed. "A few of my favorite things" has become my go-to after dinner hot beverage. I am still working through my purchases to find a go-to morning pick-me-up, with the "Earl Grey Blue" being the leading contender so far.
While the tea is not cheap, it is definitely value for money
I will be a regular customer from now on. Thankyou Hummingbird CafΓ© for the introduction, and Lake Missoula Tea Company for great quality...
Β Β Β Read moreI can't stop. I found this shop when I was looking for Butterfly Pea Flowers.I ordered those, and the most DELISH white chrysanthemums for tea. Then, II went back and started ordering some actual tea. And, I haven't stopped. I place at LEAST one order a month, and they enable my addiction by sending it out, quick-sharp, every time. I even placed orders around Christmas, and I sent a message that they were welcome to hold back on shipping, as sometimes I order cuz I want, but don't necessarily NEED. Of course, they didn't pause for a minute, and I got all my helliday season orders as promptly as any others. The tea quality is superb. The selection is seemingly endless. And--to me, even more essential--the customer service exceeds my wildest wishes. Every time I order, it's in the mail before I can blink. Every time I email, I get an email back, from a live human, instantly. And, there's always a hand-written note tucked in with my invoice. If you're looking for great teas to drink and the tippy-top of top-shelf teas to blend, stop here, first!...
Β Β Β Read moreI have watched this tea house grow. I enjoy looking at their offerings and smelling the tea. Last month I bought the strong Kenyan tea, sunrise something? It was delicious. Everything I had hoped it would be. For a special treat, I bought another bag. This time the first several brews tasted foul. I have been drinking tea for decades. I double filter my water, I use ceramic for boiling my water and steep it in the same..I did everything that works with all other teas. There was something with the batch of tea. After I got 3/4 of the way through, it tasted good again. I figured there was something over fermented or over fired or something with that layer. Putting aside my better judgement I mentioned this to the lady owner. She looked at me like I was mistaken or making stuff up and tried making excuses...I was just letting her know that her sources may have messed up her stock...instead I felt invalidated. I can buy reliable cheaper tea other places and I will...
