Pearl Boba Tea - Downtown — Restaurant in Missoula

My Fiancé and I have been coming here almost weekly for the past year but recently, in our last 8 visits something has been wrong between one of our drinks. Wether it be charging us for 4 scoops of topping but only putting 1 scoop, mixing up the popping pearls we wanted, mixing up the milk choices my gf gets, messing up the sweetness level, you get it. It’s really frustrating because we both really enjoyed coming here and for her the bobas cheer her up but lately like I said we’ve both been just getting frustrated with our orders mostly bc for $10 a drink we hope for them to be right. Especially when most of the time we come in there’s not a lot of people. It’s understandable for it to happen one or even twice but it has not been over a month and a half of visits with each visit having something wrong. And while I asked for my drink to get fixed the first couple times I just give up now and order a lotus since when my fiance want to go here since those are hopefully easier.(still have gotten two messed up lotus tho)

While there’s no fingers to point to specific employees directly(other than one gal I don’t know the name of, shorter side with straight brown hair and kinda a square shaped face, she messes my drink up %100 of the time) I have noticed a couple times as we are saying our order to the gal at the till one of the other gals (mostly the one I don’t know the name of) has already started our drinks before the ticket even prints, going just off what she hears. And the four times I noticed this going on one of our drinks was wrong. I think going forward maybe wait for tickets to print so you can see what the customer ordered. While my fiancé still likes coming here we have stopped coming weekly/as frequent due to this and have stated going to the tea and crepe place for their bobas. I've had boba all over the world (Seattle, NYC, Tokyo...) and I can't believe the best boba ever is right here in Missoula! The flavors are on point, special mention for the homemade jam that sets the Ube apart as a must-have in its own right. The downtown location menu is so extensive, prepare to ask for recommendations from the friendly and helpful bobaristas. The space is beautiful. I've seen this location transformed a couple of times, and it's a great space. But the new mural is stunning. I had the oolong with red bean paste (YUM!) and next up to try is the grass jellies! But if you're not into that sort of vibe like me, there's also deliciously sweet espresso bar quality flavors and fruity creations. Stop reading my long review and go taste it...

This used to be my favorite boba place in town but the last couple of times I’ve been their boba was NOT GOOD. I took a friend here who has never had boba before and was hoping to share my favorite drink and make a convert. It was so disappointing to sip on hard boba. No one likes hard boba, the whole point of boba is to be soft and chewy. It’s a real shame because Pearl Boba is not just a drink shop, it is also a representation of Asian culture. Being Asian American myself, it was embarrassing to share something culturally and have it not be good. I love that they make some of their syrups in house but what’s a boba shop if the boba is not good?? I will not be coming back until they get some better quality control, I hope...
