An amazing place. Tasty food and fast service and the best thing is they are open till late in the night.
This restaurant is very close to Arches national park in the city of Moab, Utah and is an awesome place to visit for dinner after a visit to the beautiful Arches National Park.
I went to this place for dinner during my trip to Arches national park and Canyon lands national park and I just loved it. We were tired with the hectic treks in Arches national park and it was snowing outside and we went to this place and were served hot Mexican food and we just loved it. I would recommend this place to anyone who visits Arches national park. Even if you don't stay at Moab, do give this restaurant a try.
Please check out the pictures of this place that I have posted. I have posted the latest menu as well. It is little blurry though, I am sorry about that.
I carry my own food during my vacation trips but I do like to try some local cuisine of the cities/towns that I stay in and I would suggest anyone who is planning for a vacation to try at least one local restaurant of the small cities and towns that you stay in or pass by.
I have nothing against the restaurant chains like Mc Donalds, Panda Express, Burger Kings etc, but it is good to try the local restaurants. They bring in the flavor from their region and their uniqueness to the food. Also at many places their customer base is mainly dependent on the tourists, so it would also help them in getting business and give a different experience to your taste buds. And to help you, there are always food reviews available on google, Yelp etc to help you chose the local restaurants.
Do give a try to Gilberto's, if you have to pass through Moab, Utah anytime.

Read morethis place is so amazing. food is so tasty — it is quick, warm, and pretty too. the horchata and jamaica are really yummy. the portions are good size and makes the prices feel very much reasonable and worth it. service is great.
atmosphere: spacious parking lot around perimeter of the business. bathrooms around back. there is a lovely little outdoor seating area with lots of benches. lots of indoor seating too, mostly at tables but also there is the high top countertop bar that is pretty spacious too for seating. the bottled salsas are along one portion of the bar seating and available to customers (they also have house-made salsa verde y salsa rojo if you ask).
open late, can’t beat this being one of the only options in town for late night food (really the only one if you don’t want fast food and those places still close around 11pm or midnight versus giliberto’s closes at 2)
i was a bit on a budget and so my first time here, i just ordered a side of beans, a side of queso, and a large jamaica. they were a good price and some of the yummiest beans i’ve had in a while, and i love beans and eat them frequently — these ones are refried and have some cheese melted on top that makes the beans feel like they all just melt in your mouth and fill you with joy and happiness. i don’t eat huge portions usually but that side of beans lasted me a few meals too.
tonight i ordered mexican street corn and a fish taco. those were amazing. i also got another side of beans again, to eat as my meal tomorrow or in case i get hungry later.
if i lived in moab i would totally come here all the time. if/when i am back in town i will definitely be back and in the meantime while be sharing the love...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped in later in the evening to grab a bite since it was the closest and only place really open that late.
Walking in, it reminded me of a run down mom n pop shop. There was a crowd of 4 guys sitting at a table that tended up when we walked in, looking a bit suspicious of something. We kept walking to the counter. While at the counter, we viewed the menu which looked assorted and delicious. The two ladies behind the counter, the younger one took our order and was what I was expecting when I walked in. Professional, courteous, and energetic. The middle aged woman behind her kept eyeing us and wouldn’t even say hello or ask how we were doing but would keep looking at us.
While we ordered, the group of 4 behind us would come up to the counter and grab items off of it (drinks, treats, etc)Then let the older woman know what they were taking. She spoke to them in a familiar manner so began to guess she was feeding part of her family for free.
While our order was being made, I was putting salsas into cups and set some lids aside. One of the males from the table came up and started pouring salsas, then took my lids that I had set next to me.
When confronted, he backed away as if pretending to not know that I had set them aside.
We ended up getting our food to go.
Overall: the food was good, the service was meh, and the environment was questionable/sketchy. I’d recommend getting food from here but eating it elsewhere. There were better places to eat nearby just none...
