ALL 3 OF US GOT FOOD POISONED!!!!
This place went downhill fast. We believed it is now run and owned by Eastern Indians. Both the food and atmosphere went down. Not as busy as before, especially on a Saturday night. It used to be my family's favorite Raising Canes. We would drive 1.5 hrs from San Jose. It will probably be our last time.
Yesterday we had the worst experience. We all had gas soon after eating, followed by diarrhea. The chicken pieces weren't as delicious as before. A lot less batter. The secret dipping sauce seemed old. Had a different taste.
For a Saturday night around 10 PM, this place should have been crowded, but it wasn't. The atmosphere seemed to have changed. The employees were not happy and weren't themselves. The cashier who took my order kept on dropping things my receipt, sauce, and plates. Seems like something was off about her.
But then we noticed a bearded Eastern Indian guy with tattoos on his arms going around asking each table if he could take anything away for them. That's when we realized the answer to our questions. This place is under new management or ownership and is now owned or run by Indians. That explains why the employees are on edge and the food quality went downhill. When we all got gas and diarrhea, we concluded that since it is own by Indians, they must of made the employees used old secret sauce, dirty batter, chicken or cut out some hygiene steps to save money.
When Indians make my Subway sandwiches, I get food poison, but when Mexicans or non Indians make them, I never get stomach aches. I think they don't throw away the food that are old and mix them in with the new ones. Our bad experience accompanied with gas and diarrhea confirmed that there are some hygiene problems at this Raisin Canes in Modesto.
Please share more experiences like ours so the people in Modesto know what happened to this Rasinig Canes. So sad when a particular race takes over a business, it...
Read morePulled up to an almost empty drive thru a little before midnight to order a single sandwich. Single car ahead of me. I wait. And wait. And wait. Eventually 5-6 cars pile up behind me. I see a worker walking around, opening the window and talking for long periods to the people in the car ahead who don’t seem to mind the wait. Eventually cars start honking. No response from anyone.
After nearly 20 minutes I get out and knock on the window. Teenager answers. I ask what’s the holdup. She says they’re making the food now. Actually I see about 7 workers all just standing around doing nothing. Why’s it taking so long? I see bags of food lined up. Was there a problem with the current order? Perhaps you just have them pull ahead and you serve everyone else waiting in line. No, nothing’s wrong she says. Is it normal to make people sit and wait 20 minutes while you chat with your friends while the food gets cold and everyone waits? No answer.
I get back in my car and suddenly the food gets served to the car ahead of mine. By now everyone behind me has left the line and abandoned their orders. I finally pull up and ask to speak with the manager. Teenager says she’s the manager.
Are you expecting me to pay full price though you made all of us wait 20 minutes while you visited with your friends? We expect all our customers to pay. Ok, you can keep my order then, I don’t want it any more.
This was my first time going there. Had heard good stuff. Canes needs to replace its nighttime staff, that’s absolutely unacceptable. I went to nearby Taco Bell instead and good great food and...
Read moreFeb 2023: We love the strips! We've only done the drive-through and so far, despite the long lines, it goes at a good pace so you're not in line forever. I gave 4 stars because they only offer one kind of dipping sauce so I have to use my own bbq sauce mixture. If we ate in the restaurant I'd have nothing to dip it in because I'm the rare person who doesn't like thousand island type sauces (even at In n Out I ask for VERY light or no spread). Ranch is a very popular dressing/dipping sauce as is bbq sauce so if Cane's at least offered Ranch & BBQ sauce as alternatives I'd have given 5 stars.
Update 03/09/23: They now have a second sauce offering they call honey mustard...but it was gross. Tasted like horseradish & vinegar & not like honey mustard at all. Why not offer BBQ sauce and Ranch? At least BBQ sauce! That stuff you're calling honey mustard is not good at all...unless you like the jet fuel horseradish taste. Still love the...
