YAAAAAYY KOREAN FOOD!!!! Alright y’all let’s lay it down!!
First things first-
DO NOT COMPARE THIS TO AN ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT KBBQ HOUSE. FULL STOP. (other readers, use critical thinking when parsing through these so called “reviews”)
You want to eat in quantity rather than quality for cheap? Then GO there, there’s a reason those restaurants exist, everyone can find their happy medium.
We were a party of 2 and the food portion was MORE than enough. Service was quick, even if the waitress forgot a handful of times i have no problem SPEAKING UP, and asking for what i need again. (They are literally taking multiple requests as they walk throughout the restaurant, relax)
We got the bbq Combo B -that was listed as 2-3 person- (and because we think we eat a bit more for 2 people..) we also ordered the 야채전 (vegetable korean pancake)
Yeah.. we took left overs home 😂, we would have been just fine with the bbq combo.
This restaurant is way more upscale than many of the other (NOT) all you can eat KBBQ houses ive been to. The quality of the meat was fantastic, the pork belly?!?? That was the cleanest, least fattiest pork belly that i have ever had, it melted in my mouth and sat in my stomach so easy. The banchan was delicious too! We got the 1 free refill on both the salad and the whole set of banchan. STUFFED I TELL YAH! The atmosphere, meat quality, service, all made sense for the KBBQ price point.
And whats nice too is if you want to get some korean food but the BBQ portion is outside of your price range, theres plenty of other menu items, combos, and traditional dishes to enjoy. If you notice some dishes/banchan missing, you also need to remember that the owner may have considered the taste buds of the dominant demographic that is being catered to here in monroe.
So leave feedback! Ask for things! As time goes on, prices may be adjusted, menus can expand!
For me i would love if the owner added Dukk-mandu guk 떡 만두국 pleeease please! 💛💛💛
Were definitely coming back for the other menu items like soondubu next time and I cannot WAIT to order korean fried chicken with some 떡볶이 (spicy rice cakes) to-go when im craving fried food items.
Finally: To the peeps making their reviews, huffing and puffing about having their experiences with other (NOT all-you-can-eat) kbbq places.. as someone who’s been to Cali, Arizona, traveled to other states because of my military background, and actually IS Korean, ive had my fair share too. Including my entire diet having consisted of korean food growing up. Stop comparing fruits to vegetables (costs differ greatly by state) and actually make an effort to review places as they are.
I love that Monroe’s food diversity is growing, and that I also dont need to drive a minimum of 40-45 minutes to get some decent Korean food. lets do our best to continue to...
Read moreThis feels like a korean bbq that thinks they are a high end steak house. If my wife and I want to spent $200 I'll go to a proper steak house. Yes you read that right, $100 per person and most of it is going home to be microwaved 😥
What they do well: meat quality, this is some of the best quality meat I've had at a korean bbq. The new York steak was very good and spicy pork marinade was great. that's it. It's the only thing they do well.
What was subpar: service, got seated quickly and all staff was friendly but didn't see a server for our order until about 10-15 mins in. Ended up ordering everything at once and didn't get our meats until about 30 mins in. alcohol, ordered the somaek tower but beer was flat. It's only $3 more to get the beer and soju separately, but atleast you get fizzy beer. Then most korean bbq give you those awesome hite granulated glasses and this place gives you a massive 20oz pub glass. sides, they were ok. Never had the peanut one, really didn't fit. Maybe it's the american in me but tasted better with the flat beer. No radish or greens?! Please add radish to your side dishes!!!! Bonus if it's shredded kimchi radish, my favorite 😍. bulgolgi, I think it's a staple korean bbq dish and it's in every combo. Why are you out?
What is keeping me from returning: experience, this doesn't feel like korean bbq. I've been to korean bbq all over the states, japan, and korea. The main vibe i always get is 'family', it's about hanging out with friends and family enjoying good food, sharing stories, laughing, just having a good time. This was the opposite. We showed up over an hour before close, didn't get anyone to take our order for 15 mins in, received meats 30 mins in, 1hr in exactly on the dot server was telling us we can take cooked food home. 5 mins after restaurant was dead and we are presented with check. After spending $200 we were rushed out and will be microwaving that awesome new...
Read moreI am so excited to have a Korean restaurant/BBQ so conveniently located! Perfect for a day after a long hike or ski day on the way back home.
I have been looking for a go to Korean restaurant in this area and this is definitely IT for me. They have an extensive menu (at very reasonable prices) which makes it a great place to bring lots of people, since there is something for everyone! They make the menu accessible for everyone: pictures, English and Korean names, options for all types of diets.
We got the tofu soup and a combo B meats. The quality of the meat was incredible. EVERYTHING was so fresh, from sides to main courses. It doesn’t taste like food that’s been kept for days and days. Truly some of the best Korean food I’ve had in a while.
We came at an odd time of day so luckily we were the only ones in the restaurant and we were given full attention by the staff and the owner! They were super attentive and the owner actually grilled our meats for us and gave us a little lesson on the proper order to grill the meats and recommended side dishes to pair with each meat. He was so friendly and engaging (it feels so rare nowadays). The whole experience felt so personal.
All in all, great place. I never leave reviews but it was honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in quite some time and I’m hoping more people go because I need this place to stay in...
