Five guys is THE NUMBER ONE PLACE to go if you're looking for a HUGE, gluttonous burger and fries. No one can compete on that level.
Fries A large fries is sometime like 1500 calories - a whole sack full of local fries (washington/idaho usually - they post the actual farm on the wall) that are deep fried in peanut oil.
Peanuts Peanuts are like... their thing. They have free peanuts you can eat while you're there, but I don't suggest it because the food is huge.
Burgers A "normal" cheeseburger is a double cheeseburger and you can get whatever you want on it for free. No nickle-and-diming to get sauteed mushrooms or jalapenos. Do it yourself. They do charge for extra cheese and bacon, I think. I wouldn't say those things are necessary though.
Shakes They recently (in the last year, I think) introduced shakes. Such a good idea - except for the fact you'll be dead-ass full for a week from eating a whole burger and fries (even the "regular" sized fries). That said, the shakes are good and I know that because I'm a pig.
The location This location, as a franchise, used to be a little stingy with their fries (based on other locations I've been). They've since changed their ways, though (at least based on my last couple times). That said, I do feel like they've missed stuff in my order more often than not. So... not the most attentive crowd - be sure to check your order if you're getting take out. The restaurant is right by the movie theaters - so I highly suggest getting it for a movie (screw the rules). Or you could get a burger and fries and hang out at the "bricks and minifigs" store next door - they'd probably allow it?
Takeout I always order for take out... They have an awesome online ordering system and they don't start making your fries until you get there. Everyone should use this - it makes it easier than having to tell a cashier every little thing you want on the burger - especially if you have a few...
Read moreIf i could give it 0 stars then i would. The new management and the employees here is TERRIBLE. There was 1 person working behind the counter. He had to take our order and then go cook and prepare all of our food along with 2 or 3 other customers orders ahead of us. There was an employee over talking to a customer the entire time. Another girl came out from the backroom and joined in talking to them, neither of them acknowledging us at all, all the while there was just the boy behind the counter hurrying to try to get us our food. There were chairs all over, not pushed in, peanut shells all over most of the tables and all over the floor. It took 15 minutes for us to get our food so we could actually leave, we were going to eat there but after this customer service we decided to take it to go. When we got home and opened our food, we ordered and paid for a cheese hot dog but there was no cheese found on it at all. It was only a 5 minute drive home from there but most of the food was luke warm and some of it even cold. We have been in to this particular 5 guys multiple times before the new management took over and we never had this experience. We were always greeted nicely by everyone and the store was always clean with the food being served promptly. This store has definitely declined and is not a go to place to...
Read moreGoing to a Five Guys Burger and Fries restaurant is a lot like choosing between cardboard, grease, or flavor. A lot of places have burgers that are clearly frozen and pre-formed with very minimal seasoning. Other places have burgers that, while they have some flavor, they are so dripping with grease that you can feel your arteries clogging . Five Guys though? Is neither of these. The burgers are fresh, made to order, with an array of toppings you can add for no extra charge such as grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, fresh lettuce and tomatoes to name a few. Their fries are always hand cut and never frozen. Heck they even go so far as to tell you exactly where they got the potatoes to make the fries. Usually some local farms or somewhere not far. And the amount you get is never disappointing. You order a small and you get the equivalent of a McDonald's large. You order a large though and you can have a meal of just fries. If you want something quick and delicious that never disappoints, go to Five Guys Burgers and Fries. You won't regret it. Enjoy cracking some free peanuts...
