Well, I thought this place was great. Yes, it has some qurks and kinks to work out like if you are allergic to anything, where food may cross contaminate, or you're not into any kind of animal protine getting mixed into your food don't eat here! But if you don't mind your food being cooked over whatever else was just cooked there and a little from someone's food bouncing over into yours that is just inches a way from your cook... this might be a place to try. You grab a bowl and fill it with your choice of noodles, vegetables, and protein. Pour some of your preferred oils on it for cooking anywhere from spicy to sweet, etc. They take your bowl and take everything but the noodles and throw it on a hot round cooking table and start tossing and cutting with their metal spatulas. Near the end, the noodles get thrown in, and then it's transferred to a plate. You can then add some more sause as well as brown and white rice. And there was some egg flower soup, which I did not try. The whole thing was odd...
Read moreI worked here and it was by far one of the worst work experiences of my life. He does some shady and I'm fairly sure illegal practices. I'm no lawyer but I'm pretty sure overtime is anything over 40 hours in a single work week, not over 80 hours in two weeks.
He would work me 56 hours one week and then 23 the next week and claim he didn't have to pay me over time. On top of that over time was always under the table, in cash but NEVER was it the proper time and a half you're supposed to get paid for work time.
I enjoyed the food but these practices were straight up dirty and don't even bother tipping. DON'T TIP. Now normally I would never say that, servers live off of tips and I'm an excellent tipper but the tips dont go to the workers. Every single tip is pocketed by the owner and when you try to call him out he tries to say its included in the check. But guess what, it isnt (trust me, I did the math).
I love Mongolian grill and all I would say it go to a different...
Read moreThe food, mostly, is decent. It's extremely difficult to get good Mongolian BBQ in WA. The sauces are always limited, watered down, never a yellow curry (the powder @ Chang's is silly and tasteless), and rely too much on after-cooking 'gravies'. Anyway, this store/chain mitigates some of this. The ingredient selection is quite varied and good, the sauce selection is the largest I've seen in WA, and they aren't as diluted as other places. What really drags them down is the cleanliness, or lack thereof, and that they appear to be understaffed for a place that asks you to wait to be seated. I could feel my shoes sticking to the floor as soon as I got to the table area. The highchairs especially just feel like they don't get cleaned all that well/often. With all of that we still eat here w/some frequency because it's likely the best instance of Mongolian BBQ we've found...
