The only reason why I’m writing this review is because “ Supervisor” Antoinette is bad for business. I was there on Sunday with my husband enjoy the meal that total $51.93 we tipped our waitress $13.07 just to keep it even and she was relatively pleasant I will spare her name in this post however we also placed a to go order we did not get what we wanted in the order and I did not know it because the order was being delivered to someone else they called me later to say hey by any chance did I have your food because this is not what I ordered once I told them no they went ahead to enjoy the meal But I did let them know I would call back to the restaurant to make them aware I called the restaurant today granted I was there on Sunday today is Tuesday I just remembered so I called them now when I got the supervisor on the phone she did not address herself with her name and position she just started asking me what the problem was so I asked her what her name and position was She then goes on to say “you’re just calling now” That was on Sunday, We can’t do anything about that now if you had called same day it would’ve been something different. I stopped her mid conversation to try and let her know I was not calling because I wanted something back I was calling to make a complaint so that they could let their staff know. It then turned into a slight back-and-forth because she would not hear me out. She assumed that I wanted something and when I tried to let her know that she assumed she said no I didn’t I just told you….. XYZ…. But she truly did assume as to why she became defensive to let me know I should’ve called sooner… Does it matter when I’m calling when I’m calling as a customer to share with you the experience that I had? When I asked her for her manager‘s name or contact information for someone higher than her she refused! At this point I don’t care if she’s part owner or family. The owner needs to know that she is bad for business! This was not my first time there but it may as well have been my last time. There are way too many places to go especially in the Mooorestown...
Read moreExcellent spot for breakfast in the parking lot of what was formerly a K-Mart. Parking is plentiful, and the dining room is large. They are able to serve a lot of people efficiently.
Pictured are omelets from two different visits:
Mediterranean omelet: sautéed spinach, diced tomatoes, and feta cheese.
Veggie omelet: sautéed spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers and onion.
Both were $12.49.
You can choose either hash browns or "breakfast potatoes" (aka home fries). I'm sure the breakfast potatoes are fine as they go. But why pick blah cubes that quickly become lukewarm when you could have steamy, crusty hash browns? Perhaps if they had the skin on it would be a better contest. But, from observing another patron's plate, they don't (which is typical).
The fruit side is fresh cut and well worth it for $3.99.
They leave a self-serve pot of coffee on the table.
If you don't like being in close proximity to other human animals you may want to avoid going on the weekend. However, service is friendly and efficient even when it's crowded. As with most diners, things don't really get going on weekends until mid- to late-morning. So you're probably OK before 9.
Another reviewer commented this was formerly a Perkins. As a result, the bathroom is conveniently located near the door and cash register. This reduces traffic through the restaurant, and makes it easy to stop on your way in and out.
I'm not sure if this is always the case, but the blinds were all down on my recent visit. This is fine since they're translucent, and it avoids excessive glare or direct sunlight. The warm interior lighting nicely supplements the diffuse light from outside. The grounds are grassy...
Read moreJuly 2023 Update * I added another star to my review. The service was excellent and the food was quite good. We had breakfast entrees that were very tasty. I chose the Healthy Omelette with Breakfast Potatoes and 3 4-inch Pancakes. Very tasty. Even though we did not have desert, I did notice that they have increased the variety of deserts. Yes, not quite as varied as when they were Perkins, but still considerably more than cookies. So overall I made this a four star review because of the improvements. It’s decent diner food and a quality breakfast establishment.
End of Update *
Our lunchtime group decided it was time to return to what used to be Perkins. I’m happy to say the food hasn’t changed. Most of the menu is still breakfast, along with sandwiches, burgers and a very small selection of dinner entrees.
The only things that have changed are: (1)Deserts are almost nonexistent as long as you only want a cookie - no more pies, cakes, etc. (2) The hours are now are now only 7:00AM to 3:00PM every day, until the pandemic is history and customers return to a more normal pattern resemble the pre-pandemic era.
I am the only one that ordered a dinner entree- Braised Pot Roast and Veggies with Mashed Potatoes. The other three friends in our group had breakfast entrees. They all thought that their breakfast was very good and quite filling. For me, I can only say that I’ve had better braised beef. The beef gravy was also just so-so. Then again, my entree was only $15, rather than the usual $30 at an upscale restaurant.
So if you are out and about and feel hungry and want to feed a large family then stop in and give the new Stacks...
