Excellent spot for breakfast in the parking lot of what was formerly a K-Mart. Parking is plentiful, and the dining room is large. They are able to serve a lot of people efficiently. Pictured are omelets from two different visits: 1. Mediterranean omelet: sautéed spinach, diced tomatoes, and feta cheese. 2. Veggie omelet: sautéed spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers and onion. Both were $12.49. You can choose either hash browns or "breakfast potatoes" (aka home fries). I'm sure the breakfast potatoes are fine as they go. But why pick blah cubes that quickly become lukewarm when you could have steamy, crusty hash browns? Perhaps if they had the skin on it would be a better contest. But, from observing another patron's plate, they don't (which is typical). The fruit side is fresh cut and well worth it for $3.99. They leave a self-serve pot of coffee on the table. If you don't like being in close proximity to other human animals you may want to avoid going on the weekend. However, service is friendly and efficient even when it's crowded. As with most diners, things don't really get going on weekends until mid- to late-morning. So you're probably OK before 9. Another reviewer commented this was formerly a Perkins. As a result, the bathroom is conveniently located near the door and cash register. This reduces traffic through the restaurant, and makes it easy to stop on your way in and out. I'm not sure if this is always the case, but the blinds were all down on my recent visit. This is fine since they're translucent, and it avoids excessive glare or direct sunlight. The warm interior lighting nicely supplements the diffuse light from outside. The grounds are grassy and well-kept.

*** July 2023 Update *** I added another star to my review. The service was excellent and the food was quite good. We had breakfast entrees that were very tasty. I chose the Healthy Omelette with Breakfast Potatoes and 3 4-inch Pancakes. Very tasty. Even though we did not have desert, I did notice that they have increased the variety of deserts. Yes, not quite as varied as when they were Perkins, but still considerably more than cookies. So overall I made this a four star review because of the improvements. It’s decent diner food and a quality breakfast establishment. *** End of Update *** Our lunchtime group decided it was time to return to what used to be Perkins. I’m happy to say the food hasn’t changed. Most of the menu is still breakfast, along with sandwiches, burgers and a very small selection of dinner entrees. The only things that have changed are: (1)Deserts are almost nonexistent as long as you only want a cookie - no more pies, cakes, etc. (2) The hours are now are now only 7:00AM to 3:00PM every day, until the pandemic is history and customers return to a more normal pattern resemble the pre-pandemic era. I am the only one that ordered a dinner entree- Braised Pot Roast and Veggies with Mashed Potatoes. The other three friends in our group had breakfast entrees. They all thought that their breakfast was very good and quite filling. For me, I can only say that I’ve had better braised beef. The beef gravy was also just so-so. Then again, my entree was only $15, rather than the usual $30 at an upscale restaurant. So if you are out and about and feel hungry and want to feed a large family then stop in and give the new Stacks on 38 a try.

Went to stacks on 38 for the first time the other day, and my partner and I were very happy with our dishes. I got a dish that’s biscuits and gravy adjacent, as well as the strawberry glazed crepes, and my partner got an omelette with pancakes on the side. The food was delicious, we were both very impressed with the quality and portion size of our meals. The service was pretty good, although our dishes did take a little long to get out, but it’s understandable because they were busy. I did see another review saying that it felt “sticky” in there, and I do agree that our table was a little sticky and the overall air quality felt stuffy, but my partner asked them to adjust the air and they actually did, which was really nice. As far as the sticky thing, I get it, but I feel like it’s to be expected since it’s a very busy family restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. People don’t go to stacks for the ambiance, they go for the pancakes - and the pancakes are delicious, if I say so myself :)

My girlfriend and I went here on Saturday 18 February 2023 after our pilates class. We both had passed by this place, yet had never eaten here. We decided to give it a try. We were seated upon entering the establishment and immediately served once seated. We both ordered the Stacks Premium Platter which included: 3 eggs prepared your way, bacon and sausage links, potatoes or hash browns, pancakes and french toast. My friend had hers with turkey sausage and turkey bacon as she does not eat pork. Her and I ended up taking some home because the portion sizes were large. The prices were reasonable, the staff were outstanding and very attentive. Overall, our experience was great and the breakfast was great. We highly recommend. I will be back with my fiancé. Just a note: we arrived around 9:00 A.M. it was somewhat empty however, by 10:00 A.M. the line was out the door. If you are in a rush or hurry, we suggest arriving before the crowd shows up.

Outstanding eatery! DO NOT shy away if people are waiting outside, there is a constant flow of table traffic. Hosts greet you promptly upon arrival and wait times are usually shorter than stated! Large variety of "Gluten-Free" options. Omelettes can come with a side of "Gluten-Free" pancakes??!! This is UNREAL!! They are light, airy & melt in your mouth! A carafe of coffee is provided to your table. . . NO waiting for that second cup! The butter was soft, NOT frozen, that's always a plus. Quick and attentive service coupled with a real FAST kitchen helps with the short wait times. Rebecca treated us courteously without rushing us. Very kid friendly place also. Overall value is thru the roof, with plus on food quality, variety, service and courtesy. Stacks will soon become a family favorite for sure! WITHOUT A DOUBT, THE BEST GLUTEN-FREE PANCAKES AROUND!

My sister suggested we come here because her and her boyfriend came and she said it was the best food. I thought it was okay not the greatest to be honest. I got the mushroom and cheese omelette and they put way too many mushrooms in the omelette. I asked for American cheese didn’t really taste like it and extra doesn’t look like extra in the omelette and wasn’t that cheesy at all. The buttered wheat toast was very good. The hash-browns were my favorite part until I seen burnt underneath which was a real bummer. My son got a cheeseburger he seemed to enjoy it. My sister Abby got the ham & cheese omelette with burnt and hard tater tots which wasn’t pleasant to eat. Overall experience was okay. Our waitress was nice so that’s a plus. Will have to come for lunch next time.
