UPDATED**I went into this Mooresville location for Buffalo Wild Wings around 1 PM on a Wednesday. Upon arriving, I could immediatly smell an unpleasant stench of chlorine and/or other various cleaning sprays and chemicals. We were seated and given waters. The waitress was very kind, but did take an unreasonable amount of time to process our orders(20 minutes), get our food out to us(30 minutes) and bring back the bills(20 minutes). This was strange because it was not very busy, but I could tell it was due to a lack of service as there were not many workers, and many empty tables. While ordering, me and my boyfriend went to order unlimited wings, but were told we could not share, and that if we did then our waitress would āget in trouble by her managerā. She suggested we get 2 orders of unlimited wings. The prices for this were not on the menu, but I would later find out that it cost $20 per person for the unlimited wings. I said I wouldnāt be able to eat that much and didnāt want to pay for that, but she had no alternative suggestions so I went forward with the unlimited deal without knowing the price. The food was okay, but we didnāt finish either plates of wings because they began to make us feel nauseous. Iām not exaggerating, the wings were soggy, and the sauces kind of stale/old tasting. We ordered the buffalo ranch and lemon pepper. Not good. When it came for the check, the waitress said it would be easier if she just got our number and texted the bill to us. Once we received the text and opened the link, we were shocked to see that our bill amounted to 60 DOLLARS including tip. This was all for a platter of 4 pretzel bites and dip, and 2 platters of wings (10 each). I always tip since I work in food service and understand that it can be tough, but this time we did not because the price was ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Terrible experience, can say I will never be back.
UPDATE: I received a call the next day from the manager of the BWW location. He apologized for my bad experience, and was overall kind. The reason I am adding to this review is because he told me he suspended the WAITRESS for 2 weeks, despite me having said she wasn't the problem. He asked what else he could do to make the situation better, and I asked for a refund, but he said he could only refund $20 out of the full $60 (that was how much it cost for just my unlimited wing deal). We paid majority of it in cash, so the only amount of money he said he could refund was the $12 that had been charged to my card (and give an $8 gift card) . My alternatives to this were to get a $20 gift card or a $20 "credit" in the restaurant. I said no to these because I do not plan on going back. We also discussed the chlorine/bleach smell of the entrance. He said I was the first to complain about this, but after looking further into other Google reviews, I see that I am not.
I took some time to think about the call. I'm writing this because I'm upset that the waitress (Nicolette) was suspected for 2 weeks since, as I made it clear in my Google review and in my message to BWW corporation, SHE WAS NOT THE ISSUE. I'm upset because of 3 things: The smell, the service (food quality and time it took to come out),...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm writing this as a past fan of the restaurant, so no negative bias exists beforehand. The last two times I have been to this restaurant have been dreadful. I've visited twice with the same amount of people in my party, four people. The first visit: Took over 40 minutes to have us seated; the place was not even close to full. The food took around 50-60 minutes to get to us, and the waitress took over 20 minutes just to greet us. The food was at least good, albeit cold. Several other diners around us had to wait even longer than us, even though they were seated first. It was a barely occupied seating area, but everything was taking so long and everything was so uncoordinated. The second visit: We were seated fairly quickly, and we only waited by the door for less than 5 minutes. They refused to let us sit in the lower dining area, the area that were not high-top, and there was no explanation. That dining area was only occupied by one party of three. The same waitress passed us several times, not once greeting us. We sat for around 25 minutes before we were finally asked about drinks and our orders. Since we sat for so long, we were ready. We ordered our meals and then the waiting began. It took an extra 30 minutes just to get the first appetizer out. After that, it took 15 more minutes to get the second appetizer out. The second appetizer was street tacos, and the shells were cold and hard. Another half hour had passed before our food finally came out. We finished up and asked to speak with someone about our frustration. When the manager came out she was very dismissive about our complaints and shrugged us off. We weren't trying to get anything comped or removed; we just wanted to voice our complaints and figure out what was wrong tonight. She offered to comp both of the appetizers, and someone in the party asked if she could comp one of the drinks. She said yes to the appetizers being comped, and said she'd only comp two drinks; this was fine, as it wasn't my intention at first. Moments later the check comes back and one appetizer was comped instead of both. We asked about it passively and calmly to which the waitress responded negatively and started trying to argue with me. I told her I didn't want to argue and that I may have heard the manager incorrectly, to which the waitress started rambling about how they were understaffed and the kitchen was a mess and giving a ton of excuses when all I wanted was to voice my complaints. She leaves with the check and the manager comes back and tells us the same thing the waitress even though I thought everything was squared away. The whole entire night was a mess, start to finish, and it was insulting to have the manager and a waitress blame us for the long wait times and for complaining.
I think I've given this place plenty of chances. The food is fine, but the service is painful and abysmal. It makes the trip...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I just picked up a takeout order for boneless wings and I am kind of upset. When I looked online to determine my sauces it says clear as day ā24 wingsā however when I called Katie at the front to place my order she said, āOh I know it says 24 on the website but we only give you 20ā so I decided to still place my order even though Hooters is across the street and they donāt have any issues with giving me whatās advertised...because itās on the menu. Then, when I go to pickup the order I walked into the restaurant and stood at the waitress stand for about 5 minutes and had 3 staff members (seemed like waiters and cooks) walk by with no knowledge of me standing there waiting without being acknowledged. Then once it was recognized that I was there to pickup the girl kindly let me know my order was ready and that she would need to bag it up for me. When she handed the bag of 20 wings to me I thought for sure the order was missing half the wings because it weighed nothing, but on closer inspection it did have 20 tiny little wings in the box. To be fair, my order was correct, just the smallest portions I have ever seen. Iām a long time customer of locations all over Texas and North Carolina and not once have I been told that Iād be getting less than advertised on the locations website and not once has the portion of 20 wings felt like I was holding a box of lettuce. I donāt call a place and order one of the largest orders of wings to come eat McDonalds nuggets rolled in sauce. If you are looking for portions that are as promised online feel free to go to Hooters across the street and order from their online menu. They count the wings in...
