Went there for stand up comedy night on Wednesday. It was a pretty funny show. The audience was small and the show ran a little late for me for a Wednesday. If the show started a little earlier, I would have enjoyed it more. I hope the comedy night stays, though. I could see myself stopping by once a month or so for it. The door man let me know that they serve food from Atomic Grill. That really made me wish the show started earlier. I would have come by for dinner and comedy.
I haven't seen a music act here, but the venue looks like a good spot.
I will keep an eye on the music schedule, too. It's hard to find original music these days. It's all classic rock cover bands or a guy with an acoustic guitar. I'll be looking to 123 Pleasant Street to give me something better.
The drink prices were decent and the bartender was attentive and fast. There are several WV beers on tap, along with a few macros...
Read more... this was one of the absolute best places to see live local original music back when it was the nyabinghi in the early 90s, and there is more history besides that as most know. as well, nationally known independent acts would come thru there. there were jam nights, all ages shows, benefits, or you could just go play pool in the lower room... etc. i'm sure the tradition continues in some way... would like to get back there someday and have a yuengling in...
