The place is absolutely gorgeous, and I highly recommend going while there's still daylight to see the views. I went at night, but was still able to appreciate the magnificent design of the place. I don't know where half the reviews are coming from about small portions, because my girlfriend and I left completely full and didn't finish a lot of it. For starters my girlfriend loved the fried pickles. They were huge. We also ordered the garlic and sriracha fries, which were my favorite and I'm picky on fries. They were slightly spicy for her, but she continued to enjoy them. For the first course I had a beef rib french onion soup which was delicious. My girlfriend got the bbq chicken wings which had a lot of meat on them and there were a lot of wings that she didn't finish, even with my help. For the second course I had the duck breast which was delicious and a decent portion. The flavor was good and the wild rice was incredible as a side, but the star to me were the green beans which were perfectly cooked and fresh, in addition to being wonderfully buttery. She got the shrimp carbonara which was her favorite part of the night. The shrimp burst with flavor and are now her favorite in town. For dessert, we got the burbon chocolate mousse with a homemade marshmallow on top. To me it was perfect, but she found it a little strong and rich for one person--hence us sharing. I also had the Jesse James cocktail (vodka, ginger beer, apple jack, and lime) and boy can they make a stiff drink. While a bit pricier, I paid less than what I anticipated--especially for all the food. It was all wonderful and the servers were kind and attentive. We definitely plan...
Read moreWe went through a weird mix of emotions eating here. We booked our reservation and were excited to celebrate an important milestone in our life.
We ordered several things but the primary items were duck, salmon, and Brussels sprouts.
The Brussels came out with what can only be described as cheese whiz. They were so salty that we couldn’t eat them. We tried really hard, too. The salmon was fine- but not professional or original in any way. Just salty and boring. The duck was probably the best item. But the sides were unremarkable. For the price point of this restaurant, I expect semi-fine dining. With a limited menu, there’s really no excuse why the food can’t be perfect. The environment was fine, but not worthy of the price point. Finally, they were apparently out of all their desserts except popcorn flavored ice cream. Which, I imagine would have been just a salty vanilla ice cream based on the rest of the meal. While the serving staff wore t-shirts and jeans, they were courteous and professional-ish.
All in all, food was a step below cracker barrel, drinks tasted like something high schoolers threw together, and prices far exceeded the value.
Brunch must be the only thing keeping this place alive. We...
Read moreCame here for brunch on a Sunday. Food was good(ish), but the service was subpar. The staff were nice, but blissfully unaware of how poor a job they were doing. For instance, the hostess had 3 parties standing in front of her, did not bother to get anyone on a list, and instead spent about 10 minutes bussing tables. When she did come back to the hostess stand, she said it would be a really long wait without reservations (and then proceeded to explain that she meant 25-30 minutes). I don't consider that a long wait, so I guess I'm not sure what she meant. Once our party of 4 was sat (in less than 25 minutes, gladly), no one greeted us for another 10 minutes. I had no idea who was waiting on tables because the staff had no nametags, no uniform, no similar clothing. The hostess finally brought over 2 waters (there were 4 of us). Once the waiter came to our table, he apologized for the wait and took our drink orders. From there, it was a pretty normal dining out experience. Except that my wife ordered a rare steak and got a medium steak. There was also great confusion about the difference between cream and milk (for coffee). Not sure I would go here again unless...
