El Charrito — Restaurant in Morristown

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I’ve been coming here for about a year now and every time I go I say I won’t be back, my mistake. every time I’ve been I’ve been disappointed. Chicken had a pink tint, service is awful, food price changes when you pay, the straw that broke the camels back was my experience the other day. I took my 12 year old niece with Autism , Down syndrome, schizophrenia, tremors, etc. into this place and ordered her a child hamburger with French fries. It was supposed to be 4.75 I believe. We went to pay the bill at the front and I asked why the price nearly doubled at check out for a kids hamburger and fries. When I asked why it was more than the price on the menu The server LAUGHED in my face and said my disabled little girl was a boy, not a girl because she has a short hair cut, that she isn’t disabled and I am lying that she is not a child. IMHO taco bell has a better food... And that's not meant as a compliment to taco bell. The meat was flavorless in the enchiladas, the tacos and the burritos. The fajitas were completely overcooked and again flavorless. I would describe this restaurant best as " WHITE PEOPLE MEXICAN FOOD". This was my fourth time eating at El Charrito; but only because friends have asked me to meet them there. The food has been lackluster each time. On the positives, the restaurant has always been neat and clean. And the service has been good. In fact, the service was excellent on this particular visit. The food was plentiful. The prices reasonable. I had the special dinner which is four or five different kinds of Mexican dishes. My favorite was the chili reallano. The mango margarita was overpriced for a medium size drink but tasty, not really worth a second one at the price. The sopapilla was disappointing to me, a flat piece of fried dough with some whipped cream on top, not ice cream,and chocolate on top. I prefer the puffy sopapilla with honey, new mexico style.
