Update: I was sick all night and this morning I puked my guts out. What came out was black. Olive Garden was the last thing I ate before going to bed.

We live in Blaine so we traveled 40-59 minutes to Morristown. When we arrived they asked us to wait so that they could clean a place for us. In the meantime I went to the restroom and came back, my husband was still waiting. A couple arrived and were seated right away. They must have seen the look on my face because they seated us right away. They never asked if we wanted a table or booth either, the hostess (I guess) just placed us at a booth and said she would go get a waiter/ress. We waited about 10 minutes.
Finally she came. I ordered Sweet Tea, salad and bread sticks. She left but it took long enough for the sweet tea to arrive. The salad was good and the bread sticks were ok. However, the black olives were dubious. I had the Ziti Al Formo which was tasty but the noodles were not al dente or undercooked but passable. As for my husband's Fettuccine Alfredo, the noodles looked like they were left out awhile before putting sauce on it. The noodles while cooked looked dry in some places, you know when you cook noodles but don't use them right away and they dry up in the pot? Pasta should be tender yet firm to the bite. This was too firm and tough.
The waitress was cheerful but fast. So fast that she was practically trying to get us out of here. Which was ridiculous because we had to wait long to order and then after we ordered it took a while to get our food. But after we finished eating? I did not even finish eating the Ziti and she asked if I wanted a box to bring it home and she asked if we wanted to have teas to bring with us. Talk about fast! We were there for about 30 minutes (10 waiting, 10 eating and 10 putting half my meal in a box and paying for it on the machine). We just wanted to relax and enjoy our stay. It was not even closing time and there were still people arriving. Olive Garden was my MIL's favorite restaurant AND the last restaurant she took my husband too before she died. So he was kind of nostalgic. He was not impressed at all.
It's too bad about the service, maybe the waitress was new but this was ridiculous.
Olive Garden has the same parent company as Cheddars. We have gotten good food and service there. So why not here? We are not coming back. Instead we are going to try Fazolis instead.
We were definitely not impressed with...
Read moreMy husband and I ordered the unlimited soup breadsticks & salad. My 7 year old ordered pepperoni pizza kids meal with spaghetti. Server brought my husband and I our soup almost immediately, didn’t bother asking if we wanted extra cheese. we then had to wait a while for our salad and breadsticks and it got to the point that we had to ASK for our salad. Waiting was not an issue at all, but seeing people who were seated after us getting salad left and right was the problem. About 20 minutes after we placed our order the server comes out and tells us that they are out of spaghetti. No biggie, my daughter then chose fries for her side. 20 or so minutes in to us sitting there my drink was empty, and I was NEVER offered a refill. My husband had to ask another server to get me a drink because our server was nowhere to be found. My husband and I sat there forever waiting on the salad for the simple fact that we weren’t going to start eating in front of our child while she had nothing in front of her. Once he brought out our salad (again didn’t offer cheese OR give us plates for the salad….) I used the plate under my bowl for her some salad. Our server never came back to check on us, only to bring us my daughters food an hour after we ordered it and by then we all 3 were ready to go because of the aggravation so we asked for a to go box for her meal. So we sat there for over a hour and only had 1 bowl of soup each, 4 breadsticks total and the only refill we could get was from a server that wasn’t even responsible for our table. We are very understanding people and usually it takes a lot to get us aggravated because we understand that being a server can be very overwhelming but the service we received tonight was totally unacceptable. We could tell the people around us that were being served by the same person weren’t very happy either. Our food was great, the service was...
Read moreOverall, my food was great. The service was great. Our family came out to eat at 9pm, we were aware that it was late but the servers were welcoming. Because it was so late, once we ordered i requested the check so our server could get a head start on her side work and closing procedures, just trying to help. My 3 year old son was finally eating well for the first time today and our family decided to wait on him to finish eating. My dad takes a moment to go outside and have a cigarette around 10pm - closing time. He gets locked out automatically. Before we notice he was locked out another server told us that he was stuck and not allowed back in because of protocol. Understandable, but since we were the last table in the store, being notified that we would be locked out if we left would be useful considering we had a toddler with us too. Thank God for Olive Garden that I had already prepaid for our food, because with my dad not allowed in... we were leaving too. We rushed out the door because my dad left without his phone or keys to the car to keep warm. I forgot my debit card on the table. I called within 15 mins to ask about my card and if I was "allowed to come back and pick it up". I was told that I had to wait till opening the next day. I had full communication with my server, prepaid, tipped well, and rushing to finish eating so the store could close just for us to get ignored then blamed for not knowing protocol when we weren't ever informed about the locking doors until it was too late. Do better. This could have...
