This chineese food was not good enough for me to want to eat there a second time. We got the family stir fry, which comes with beef, chicken, and shrimp. We substituted tofu for shrimp, so I don't know if the shrimp tastes any better than the beef and chicken. Hopefully, it does because the beef and chicken are quite bland. The only flavor I tasted was from the sauce, which definitely is from a package and not worth mentioning. The price was too high for the quality of food that we got. The bill was $60 for family stir fry, two soups, and an order of 5 spring rolls, which honestly tasted like they came frozen in a box from grocery outlet and were heated up in a salamander. They did not seem to be just fried. That being said, the service was very good. The waiter was so polite and very on point. I assume he is learning english, and I applaud how well he has done because it is a very hard language to learn, and he communicated with us just fine. The main attraction here is the robot server with the digital kitty face. It's cool to see in person and a great reason to stop by and see for yourself if you like the newest chineese food place in Morro Bay. Just because I did not care for it does not mean that you won't love it.
A few key points: THEY HAVE A FOOD SERVING ROBOT! Maybe it won't be a big deal 10 years from now, but today, it really is very unique and progressive, and kinda a must-see for everybody, at least once. The restrooms are newly remodeled and super duper clean. Wheelchair accessable everything. There is plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant in case the main street out front has nowhere to park. They use recyclable Togo packaging
🚩🚩Being that I am a cook, I find it sus that the kitchen was enclosed during the remodel. It used to be wide open to view inside while you waited for your food to be cooked, back when it was Brickhouse BBQ. Nobody wants to work in an enclosed kitchen over an open, well ventilated one, and it costs more money to remodel the kitchen to be enclosed, which is not sensable monetarily when opening a restaurant in a new location that was already set up to be an operational kitchen as it was. Why would you not want people to see what is happening in the kitchen when before you could when it was a different restaurant. I'm just saying it's sus, and I believe,...
Read moreAVOID...Unbelievably bad food and overpriced! I should have been tipped off by the fact that it was completely empty at 12:45 on a Saturday! The server was not very polite when I walked in but I ordered the General Tzo's chicken, paid $3 extra for the stir fried rice side, and got a soft drink. The total came to over $30! I was stunned but assumed the servings would be large. The side dish of rice was less than a cup (seemed like it was just white rice with some soy sauce added... not worth $3!) but worst of all, the chicken was very overcooked and each piece I ate had hard bits of grizzle and cartilage! The soft drink also tasted like the machine had not been cleaned lately. When I mentioned the problem with the food, the server only offered to replace it with something else...as if I would trust another dish from this place! If they can't get a chicken dish right, I don't trust them for anything else. When I asked for a refund since I barely ate anything, he refused and said that he was just an employee. He didn't even offer to get a manager to approve it. I left all the food there and called my credit card company to reverse the charge. Definitely a waste of...
Read morePicked up chicken chow mein and orange chicken on the 4th of July 2024 as th his restaurant. First off the guy taking my phone order was talking so fast I couldn't understand him until I asked for xtra sauce on the side for orange chicken he quickly advised me in a clear voice that sauce is "only sugar and cornstarch " and extra sauce was not an option. I ordered anyway with a side of rice. When my husband picked up the order he asked for chile sauce and they handed him two packets of "surachi". Our order with tax came to $38. Now let me talk about the food. The orange chicken was ok. It had a lot of the sugar/starch "sauce" on it with a thick soggy batter covering each piece of chicken. The chow mein was very plain with only thick noodles and slivers of chicken. No vegetables no bean sprouts. Again they were ok, but for $17, I was expecting more fresh ingredients. I really never leave comments on restaurants I visit however, my hope is that Bamboo Bamboo reads my comment and many others who left comments about the food and service, so that they might make improvements were needed . I only went to this restaurant because my first choice up the...
