Dolly's Donuts — Restaurant in Morro Bay

The best old fashioned doughnut on the central coast, hands down. And I took my step daughter earlier today for a sprinkle doughnut, because she LOVES doughnuts. She was so patient and pointed out the pink sprinkle one she wanted. I grabbed an old fashioned and a crounut, and let her grab a juice. I went to grab my card- not there! I knew exactly where it was but just couldn’t pay right then. I knew my stepdaughter would be rightfully very frustrated to not have her treat after being so good, but it was my fault and was ready to take the hit while we got the card. The man behind the counter, definitely an owner, said to take it. Come back and pay whenever. It’s was SO kind and helped me so so much. I turned it into a teaching experience for my stepdaughter, explaining how we had just seen real kindness and needed to be kind back and go pay before we went to the beach. She was so happy to be being “awnest” that we had fun coming back to pay. And when we got there the woman behind the counter happily announced that the family who had been behind us had already paid for us- like she to was just happy to see kindness occur in her shop. It was a wonderful experience and an amazing doughnut. (We also happened to run into the family who paid for us at the beach- so we got to say thank you...

SO. IN. LOVE. WITH. DOLLY'S!!

Breakfast croissants are HEAVEN! Also MASSIVE. I've tried the Ham + Cheese + Jalapeno as well as the Bacon + Cheese + Egg. Both are so dank and good. They are generous with the cheese and meat, and the croissant is flaky, chewy, and buttery. Ask for it heated up! Service is fast and friendly The display case is organized and beautifully presented. Everything looks fresh and delicious The place smells like heaven when you walk in. CARBS, GET IN MY BELLY. Prices are amazing and they have a wide selection of baked goods. There is something for everyone. I love the chocolate glazed donut cream sandwich, sugar donuts, and their cronut. But really, you can't go wrong. They service boba here! I need to come back and try this.

All in all, I can't name one thing that I don't love about Dolly's Donuts. I come here all the time when I want a cheap, fast, and delicious...

Honestly the BEST CRONUT I've ever had.

I visited CA/LA for a week and made sure to eat as many donuts as I possibly could, knowing the area's reputation for donuts. I even followed recommendations from locals in LA.

But DOLLY'S DONUTS in Morro Bay EXCEEDED my expectations.

We ordered several donut types and every single one of them was stellar. The GLAZED CRONUT was hands down my FAVORITE.

I love the texture when you bite into it, and how the glaze just dissolves into a sugary juiciness. The best part is that the dough almost works like a sponge, so that it pretty much absorbs and expels that sugary juiciness with every bite. ITS HEAVEN.

Out of the way of your average tourist and possibly even locals, Dolly's Donuts is the place you NEED TO VISIT.
