Wavelengths Surf Shop — Local services in Morro Bay

After 20+ years of skateboarding, the surfing bug finally bit me hard. Did hours and hours of online research about good beginner boards and spots around Cambria, which led me to Wavelengths.

I popped into the shop over the hectic 4th of July weekend with the goal of walking out with a suit and a board. Was greeted immediately upon entering and approached within a minute or two by a super friendly employee, who found me the perfect wetsuit for the cold Cambria water. He went on break, and another great employee tapped on to help me dial in the fit.

Once back from break, the first employee helped me pick out a sick 8’ Torq board, installed fins and a leash for me, and loaded me up with free wax. Start to finish, the team at Wavelengths were engaged, eager to help, and just stoked to get me surfing—no judgment or weird vibes at all, which you can certainly find in lots of skate shops out there.

We originally went to Wavelengths to buy a T-shirt and some stickers, but they ended up helping us so much more in the long run. We bought a paddleboard down the road (with no racks to drive it 5 hours back to Laguna Beach) and called in to ask if they had any we could purchase. Not only did they have racks, they also offered to help us install one on top of our Jeep. Shoutout to John for the aid in the installation, and to Mike as well for giving us pricing, options, and details for it. We appreciate the service so much and we were so excited that everything worked out and we were able to strap it to the roof safely and take it home. Here is to the entire crew, but mainly to Trever, Tosh and John, order not relevant. I have purchased 3 boards along with leashes, bags, and suits. There customer service was phenomenal, answering any and all questions I had. They all took individual quality time to educate me on product and the whole surfing experience. I am a new comer to the sport and with there time invested in me, I feel I have excelled faster than I would have without there knowledge.
